Boston Celtics suffering a loss to the Miami Heat in Game 2 is giving trust issues to Kendrick Perkins. It is worth mentioning that the ex-Celtics center had placed his bets on Boston sweeping Miami after his former team won Game 1 comfortably. But the Game 2 outcome has forced Perkins to vent out his disappointment in a video post on X.

“Every single time, man… I start to put a little bit trust. A little trust in the Boston Celtics. And here we go again… Think about the brooms. This was supposed to be a sweep. Y’all the far better team. No Jimmy Butler, no Terry Rosier. But damn it, here, my big dumb a*s go again,” Perkins said in the video. Notably, the Heat won Game 2 114-94 and that too without their star player, Jimmy Butler, playing the game. Butler has not played with the team since he sustained an MCL injury during the play-in game on April 18.

This has added to the frustration of Perkins star as he further states in the video, “… Look, Celtics, man, why can’t y’all do right? I’m not saying y’all not gonna win the series, but damn… This should have been a sweep. Y’all supposed to be standing on business.” He emphasized that this is the moment the Celtics have been waiting for, and they know what they should do when playing a shorthanded team like the Miami Heat.

“You tuck them in, read them a bedtime story, give them no life,” he said. Big Perk further spotlighted the fact that now the Celtics will have to play the next games with the Heat having home-court advantage and the series tied at 1-1. The 39-year-old also apologized to the Heat fans (for his earlier statements).

Miami Heat makes Kendrick Perkins regret his 100 percent sweep statement

It is worth mentioning that there was a lot of trash talk of sorts from Perkins after the Heat suffered a 114-94 loss in Game 1 against the Celtics. According to an article by Sports Illustrated, Pekins stated the Heat would be swept even if they went 100 percent from the field and 100 percent from 3.

Additionally, he had also pointed out a flaw in the Heat ahead of the playoffs. He stated that the Heat still needs a 1A player because they lost their best player in Butler. But it seems Miami has responded to both his statements with their Game 2 win. This has also given the Heat fans a chance at a comeback on Perkins. “Miami shot 49% You said they’d lose if they shot 100%… Yikes,” commented one of the Heat fans on the ex-Celtics star’s recent X post.

Meanwhile, another Heat fan took a dig at the Celtics and Perkins stating if the Celtics can’t stop Nikola Jovic, how will they stop Nikola Jokic? Now it is to be seen if the Celtics can make a comeback in Game 3 of the series or continue to prove Kendrick Perkins wrong.
