It’s no secret that Drake’s love for sports could surpass his passion for making music. His extreme ways of showing it has become a sort of running joke within sports circles. Recently, he muddled up the Noah Lyles vs the NBA debate by jumping into the foray. Though he may have not got the results he was hoping for. One NBA legend preferred if Drake separated himself from the subject.

Big Shot Bob invited Noah Lyles to his podcast. That too at a time when the six-time track and field World Champion had made an enemy out of the NBA. The 7x NBA Champion stayed neutral and recommended Drake do the same.

It’s the moment everyone waited for. After stirring a debate on international and domestic champions, Team USA’s track and field dynamo, Noah Lyles was in the same space as an NBA legend. Robert Horry had Lyles on Big Shot Rob at a time when NBA pros like Kevin Durant and Devin Booker were challenging his hot take.

Then Drake appeared in the picture. He defended the NBA players but sports fans think he’s inserting himself into a conversation that has nothing to do with him. Lyles savagely declared to Drake, “Go home,” on Big Shot Rob.

Horry and his co-hosts themselves found Drake’s situation hilarious.

“Stay out of the sports arguments, dawg,” one of Horry’s co-hosts said. However, the trio and Lyles agreed, that when Drake is fawning over sports stars, he’s a little like a, “sports groupie.”

For that reason, it’s best that he doesn’t debate sports, according to them. “You’re a dynamic rapper,” Brandon Harper sent in a distant message to Drake. To which Big Shot Bob himself added, “Yeah, just stick with Rap.

Whether Drake takes their advice or not, they couldn’t resist listing out more of Drake’s fanatical behavior.

Drake’s also a notorious sports-better. He’s bet and lost millions on NFL, NBA, UFC, etc. games. It happened so often, it perpetuated the superstition of the ‘Drake Curse.’ That made him the butt of the jokes on Big Shot Rob.

Horry is not the first NBA star who is open to giving Noah Lyles the chance to speak his mind. But he prefers the debate stays among the athletes. Who knows if the ‘Drake Curse’ would strike the NBA players he’s defending.

The ‘Drake Curse’ is so infamous, fans and sports leagues alike are pleading the rapper to stop betting on his favorites. His misfortune is that the team he and his fans are rooting for loses. “Man, don’t f**king bet on me no more,” Horry claimed teams tell Drake.

After laughing at Drake’s expense, Horry changed his tune a bit. Saying that he’s met Drake before, the Lakers legend said, “He just has a love for sports. And for guys who would never ever to play, and now that you can be around it, and deep-dive into it… I’m not mad at him.”
