On August 20, the Women’s World Cup Final was played in Sydney, Australia. After a tight 1-0 finish, the Spaniards had won it all. During the following celebration, Rubiales grabbed footballer Jenni Hermoso by the head and kissed her on the lips. It has sparked backlash from all sides and the topic even found it’s way to the latest episode of “Separation Anxiety”.
Making an assumption about Rubiales’ action, the 32-year-old said, “I am not necessarily vouching for him but it is the first championship that they have ever won.”
His partner was stunned by his words as she said, “Oh my god what does that mean? No No.”
Marcus tried to justify the president’s action as something that was the result of his excitement over their first win. Disagreeing with him, Larsa said, “You know, you are grabbing someone’s face and kissing them on the lips. This is wrong.”
She also stated her discomfort with how Rubiales refused to take responsibility for his actions and resign from his position.
There has been an outrage over the situation. Fellow players and big names in the sports world began to demand Rubiales’s resignation after his questionable action was caught on video.
Larsa who had previously expressed her dislike of the issue seemed upset with her partner’s comment.

Trying to convince her, he revealed another story. He shared, “In some cultures, it is more common that you kiss on the lips.” Larsa was unimpressed with his comment and said, “What kind of culture is that; It is a perverted culture by the way.”
He added, “I feel like in the past I have seen videos of male coaches kissing male athletes on the lips.”
Even if he had shared his opinion on the matter, he does not support the action. Furthermore, he also stated that he does not condone such culture at all. Notably, Jenni Hermoso, released a statement calling the act “sexist” and “out of place”.
