NBA athletes are some of the highest-paid men on the planet. The average player rakes in well over nine million dollars. While this is already more than what a lot of older generations earned, the bar keeps rising. And not just in basketball. The one sport which tends to leave behind basketball, purely in terms of money, is the international sport of soccer. Recently, a major superstar was heading to the Middle Eastern nation of Saudi Arabia. And it’s fair to say he will be well compensated to play for the Saudi Arabian club. A certain Celtics champion couldn’t contain his shock at the announcement.

Soccer is the biggest sport in terms of fan base and Saudi Arabia is making sure to make its soccer leagues famous around the world. They have brought in some major players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the past few seasons but the latest edition from Europe has surprised the sporting world.

Celtics Legend expresses shock over massive move

Despite amassing a massive net worth of $125 million even a certain Boston Celtics legend was taken aback when he found out the perks that Neymar Jr will be receiving for signing with Al Hilal. The club paid around $218 million for the Brazilian talent. Which is more than the career earnings of The Big Ticket.

Kevin Garnett took to his social media handle in order to praise Neymar. He was also hopeful for young American athletes. Garnett wrote, “Congratulation to awwww these YOUNG BUH’s getting it!! FrFr. Hope some American athletes get a chance at some real breads like this.”

The Boston Celtics legend heaped praise on Neymar Jr. but wanted an athlete hailing from the United States to sign a lavish contract just like the 31-year-old soccer phenom.

Neymar Jr., after spending six years with Paris Saint Germain in the French Ligue 1, is finally departing from Europe. Though it is considered the premier destination for the sport,  Neymar has already won an awful lot of silverware like the Champions League, La Liga, and Ligue 1.

It’ll be interesting to witness if he can bring the same amount of success to the desert.

Neymar Jr.’s lavish contract

The Brazilian stunned everyone after agreeing to a deal with Middle Easter soccer club Al Hilal.

Neymar has signed a massive contract with the club which just set him up for life. It was reported that he’s set to get paid around 80,000 pounds for every win. He’ll also pocket $500,000 for every post promoting the sub-continent of Saudi Arabia.

It’ll be interesting to see if any American soccer stars will sign a contract as big as Neymar’s in the upcoming years.
