In the shadow of the Hall of Famer, Trinity Rodman has carved out her own path to athletic stardom. The daughter of Dennis Rodman, who is the enigmatic 5x NBA champion known for his relentless rebounding, with 13.1 average boards per game in his career, and defensive prowess, Trinity has become a force to be reckoned with on the soccer pitch. While her father’s larger-than-life persona undoubtedly influenced her approach to sports, it is another iconic athlete who has truly defined the young talent’s journey.
It’s no one but the 2x World Cup Champion and Olympic gold medalist, Alex Morgan. Unfortunately, she has recently announced her retirement from the soccer world while announcing her pregnancy. This news shocked Trinity, who recently acknowledged Morgan’s contributions in a press conference. “You can say she’s changed the game of soccer, but it’s so much more than that…It’s like, she’s our mom,” said the 22-year-old in a recent press conference.
Morgan’s impact on the soccer world has been nothing but extraordinary. She was the one to fight for equal pay within the National team. She also helped remove abusers from the NWSL and helped garner more investment towards women’s sports in the country. The striker also claimed safer and more professional conditions in the clubs in the US and England. “She’s changed the world in such an amazing way, with how many people that she can touch, just investing in women,” added Trinity. Moreover, her athletic prowess is also on another level. Since her international debut in 2010, the striker has amassed an impressive 123 goals in 223 appearances in her 14-year career with the US National Women’s Soccer team.

Trinity Rodman, at just 22 years old, has already begun to make her mark on the soccer world. She has won a gold with the US Women’s soccer team in the Paris Olympics 2024. As the youngest player ever drafted in National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) history, she quickly proved her worth by winning the 2021 NWSL Rookie of the Year award. Although her parents got separated in 2012, she had always credited her father, Dennis Rodman, for influencing her. “With my dad, I’m just so thankful, obviously he was an amazing athlete and I got those genes from him,” Trinity told Goal.com in 2021.

As players like Trinity Rodman step into the spotlight, they carry with them the lessons, values, and fighting spirit instilled by their “soccer mom.” On the same note, as Trinity claimed that his NBA legend father was the reason behind her athleticism, there’s another NBA legend who is now by the side of Trinity in her soccer journey.
Magic Johnson becomes part owner of the team in which Dennis Rodman’s daughter plays
The 5x NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers known for his immaculate passing abilities has recently added another milestone to his impressive post-basketball resume. The Hall of Famer has become a part-owner of the Washington Spirit, the NWSL team that features Trinity Rodman and Aubrey Kingsbury.
The main aim of the 65-year-old behind this investment was to add quality to the team and help them win more trophies as the game continues to popularize in the US. In a recent interview with CBS Morning, the 12x NBA All-Star said, “We’re gonna help these women, not only on the field, we want to win championships…we are gonna help them also after their career is over as well.”
