Magic Johnson’s heartfelt tribute to his father, Earvin Johnson Sr.
Earlier this year, Johnson’s father passed away at the age of 88. After dealing with the pain of losing the most important person in his life, the 5x NBA champion decided to pay tribute to his father. Taking to his Twitter account, he announced the Earvin Johnson Sr. Scholarship to support African-American students.
Being a Michigan State University alumni, he chose MSU to start the scholarship. Recently, he shared the names of all the 11 aspiring recruits who are a part of the program. He also thanked his mother and siblings in the post.

He shared, “I’m excited to introduce the inaugural class of students for the Earvin Johnson Sr. Scholarship at Michigan State University… I’m so thrilled my mother Christine Johnson, brothers Larry and Michael, and sisters Kim, Evelyn, and Pearl were able to meet and get to know the students.
