The Wade family has been in the spotlight for years, but recent events have only intensified that focus. Even days after the unveiling of Dwyane Wade’s statue, the family isn’t done reveling in the honor that has been bestowed upon the Miami Heat icon. And no one’s riding higher than Zaire Wade — Dwyane’s eldest son.
Zaire was recently pictured with a gorgeous Aston Martin Vanquish—a car that retails for an estimated $434,000.While it’s unclear if the car belongs to him, the image radiates luxury and style, showing that Zaire is carving out his own brand in the limelight. “enjoy the traffic,” wrote Zaire as the caption with a series of other moments from the statue unveiling day. His father, NBA Hall of Famer Wade, approvingly dubbed him “The Prince” in the comments, sparking both admiration and curiosity from fans.

The Vanquish’s long hood hides a 5.2 liter twin turbo V 12 which cranks out 823 horsepower and 738 pound feet of torque. Other performance goodies include standard carbon ceramic brakes, an optional titanium exhaust system and an eight stage traction control system.
It’s an interesting time for Wade’s photo op with the British luxury vehicle, given where he is on his basketball journey. Zaire is currently playing in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) with the Cape Town Tigers. He’s averaging 9.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game in his recent performances, with glimpses of the basketball DNA that runs through his family.
By any means, the 22-year-old hasn’t followed a conventional path as Zaire skipped college basketball and went on to play for the NBA G League’s Salt Lake City Stars during the 2021-22 season. Even though his time there was brief—averaging 1.8 points and 1.3 assists in a limited number of minutes—it assisted him in moving on to international basketball.

But Zaire did come back to give the G-League another shot this year. However, with the draft day scheduled on 26th October, there has been no news of the 22-year-old making the list and no reaction from Zaire either. If we were to learn anything from his speech at the statue unveiling, we know the young talent has been taught to keep going.
Zaire Wade’s speech brought tears to Dwyane Wade’s eyes
October 27th, already a memorable day for NBA legend Dwyane Wade, Zaire brought the retired Miami Heat star to tears with a heartfelt tribute. An 8-foot bronze statue that commemorated Wade’s iconic ‘This is my house’ celebration post his match-winning three-pointer against the Chicago Bulls in 2009, was indeed the highlight but it was speech on ‘man behind the statue’ that would steal the hearts.

“So I’m not here to talk about the accolades necessarily, but more so the man that is behind the statue that you guys are going to see. For me, he’s a father first…I think that goes over a lot of people’s head sometimes,” Zaire had started. Giving first hand examples to go with the claim, the 22-year-old names “perseverance,” as the most memorable teaching of the icon.
“Here’s a thing you instilled in me as a kid to make me the young man who I am today — ‘No matter what you do in this life, you will have obstacles.’ You will have obstacles, there will be ups and downs, it is important to believe in yourself, support and chase something that may be only at certain times you can see.” These words were enough to bring Wade to tears. But his youngest knew what was needed at that time. Kaavia sat beside and hugged her father as Zaire continued with his speech. Zaire’s tribute transformed the ceremony from a celebration of an athlete’s career to a poignant reminder of the power of family.
