Fortunately, Bronny James is on the mend. Many people across all walks of life rallied together to support LeBron James and his family after his 18-year-old son suffered a cardiac arrest. However, this news has also brought out some insensitive trolls. One such social media user blamed Shareef O’Neal for Bronny’s health issues. Too bad for this person, the mean comment didn’t go unnoticed. Shaquille O’Neal’s son slammed the troll for the insensitive remark.
Shareef and Bronny have a strong friendship beyond having dads who play in the NBA. Both have shown remarkable conduct in the public eye too. Recently, Shareef is not taking any disrespect lightly.

When Shareef O’Neal started at UCLA Bruins, he was diagnosed with a right anomalous coronary artery. He initially played with a heart monitor before undergoing surgery in December 2018. He continued to play with a medical device, transferred to LSU, and currently plays in the NBA G-League. He’s overcome a life-threatening condition to blaze his own path.
Now his condition is not contagious or anything. Yet, when news of Bronny James’ cardiac arrest surfaced, some were drawing unfair comparisons to Shareef.
“Bronny started hanging with Shareef and now look,” One such Twitter user crudely tweeted. “@SSJreef stay yo ass away from him he’s destined for greatness not overseas 😆”
Shaq’s son noticed it and shut down the mean claims.
“That is very disrespectful of you to say,” he replied to that user. “I’ve been around Bronny for a very long time before this happened … I’ll pray for you. You need help … sick that you would even say something like that 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️#dummy.”
Shareef’s tweet has since been deleted. But not before others caught on and supported him. The G-League star is getting more outspoken. He recently revealed he’s taken to correcting others when they refer to him as “Shaq’s son.” His response to people is to remind them his name is Shareef.
