One might assume that Michael Jordan‘s children must have had everything at their fingertips, as soon as they wish for it. However, that’s not true with Marcus Jordan. Like Shaquille O’Neal, His Airness has focused his kids on building their own legacy. The youngest son of Jordan recently revealed how he accomplished a significant feat entirely without his father’s help.

The very special and recent episode of ‘Full-Size Run’ welcomed the son of Michael Jordan on their show. Along with sharing thoughts on his relationship with Larsa Pippen, the 32-year-old divulged numerous captivating insights into his business endeavors. Previously, in his podcast, ‘Separation Anxiety,’ Marcus shared how he is immersed in crafting his sneaker business, the Trophy Room.

His commitment shone through clearly in the interview. Discussing one of the best shoe collections from his brand, MJ’s son unveiled how he got Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson on board with the plan. Instead of asking the Chicago Bulls legend for help, Marcus opted to pursue the opportunity on his own. He went on to describe it as an emotional and ‘monumental’ moment, revealing that he even cried after that.

Reminiscing on the incident, Marcus Jordan said, “I had to jump through hurdles to get Magic to approve of us using his likeness…I didn’t go through my dad directly. I know if I went to my dad, he’d be like, ‘Man you don’t need Magic, just do it without him.’

The 32-year-old added, “So, I went through my channels and ultimately got a call with Magic and pitched that concept to him. And he loved it! I actually cried after that conversation just because it was like a monumental moment for me.”

These were the Air Jordan 7 model titled “New Sheriff in Town.” It’s one of many redesigns undertaken by Marcus under his own brand.

The Air Jordan 7 takes a page from the historic 1992 Summer Olympics, where Michael Jordan boldly announced that there’s a “new sheriff in town” to Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. The design, much like the story, is indeed a slam dunk.

The midsole and outsole sport red, white, and blue, with gold accents embellished on the lace holes, tips, Jumpman logo, and back heel tab. The lateral heel discreetly showcases MJ’s signature, alongside a Trophy Room logo. It’s not just a nod to the legacies of Johnson and Jordan but also a testament to Marcus’ commitment to going above and beyond.

His brand, the Trophy Room, stems from the distinguished trophy room within the Jordan family home, known for its inspiration, and rich history.
