Wade loved the Heat. Or one can say there was no heat without Wade. He got LeBron, consolidated the Big Three, won 3 NBA championships, and bagged numerous titles. Then why did he call quits on the Heat? Why did Pat Riley do little to nothing to keep this star player?

On August 12, the 2023 class will be enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Dwyane Wade will join the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Gregg Popovich, and Becky Hammon on August 12 for the ceremony. It’s obviously a huge deal. HoF speeches are as historic as the people who accompany the honorees on this day. You can’t blame one sports media veteran for trying to get a front-row seat to the event or maybe the pre-ceremony activities.
Wade has been busy in the days leading up to his HoF ceremony. He’s making several media appearances, answering questions, and spending time with his family. He deserves a little me-time before the weekend. And he’d like to do it without any company, as he told Dan Le Batard.

After this weekend, Dwyane Wade will be among the greats of the Naismith Hall of Fame. It’s going to be the biggest day of his life so far. He’ll probably have his family, including his wife Gabrielle Union, in attendance. Before such a major day, the former Miami Heat pro is going to wind down by taking a little leaf from Stephen Curry‘s book.

When Stephen Curry needs a break from basketball, he’s swinging clubs on the golf course. ‘The Flash’ is going to do just that before the spotlight is on him this weekend.
He appeared on the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz to talk about a lot of things going on with him, where Wade said he’s going to hit the greens after the interview. That’s when Dan Le Batard offered to join. D-Wade wanted a golf guide to show him the ropes as he’s no Curry. That’s when Dan’s co-host revealed his grand scheme.
“You’re gonna caddy for him, you’re gonna be a part of the Hall of Fame festivities, you’re going to weasel your way into his life.” Now that’s detailed. Sounds like Dan was ready to drive up to the ceremony in a golf cart after hitting a few holes with Wade.

Too bad for the media veteran, Wade put a stop to it right there. “You can’t come with me, bro. My dad would be there.” Fair enough. Why won’t Wade spend this special occasion with his dad?

Wade revels in the honor
Dan wasn’t too hurt by Wade’s rejection. He smoothly moved on to ask what would make Wade emotional. The NBA champion would claim he’s having an “out of body experience” since the news. He also revealed his dad is feeling emotional over his son’s new honor.
Adding to the honor was fellow NBA star, Pat Riley. While Wade’s accomplishments are nothing to be scoffed at, he was overshadowed during the era of Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James.

Sure, the arrival of the two titans would win Heat championships, but Riley declared that it wouldn’t be possible without Wade. He had a big role in elevating Heat and that played a big part in his selection to the Hall of Fame. He’s going to share this honor with his loved ones soon.
