The legacy of late icon Kobe Bryant remains unmatched in the NBA. Apart from his superior basketball skills, he was also known for his immense generosity toward the people around him. A former Los Angeles Lakers star, who was a crucial part of the back-to-back championship-winning teams with Kobe in 2009 and 2010, remembered the NBA legend after the announcement of the latest entry into the Nike Kobe Series. The Black Mamba even helped the 43-year-old to overcome a huge debt a few years ago.

While he was a fierce competitor on the court who would do anything in his power to win the game, off it Kobe always wanted everyone to be their best selves.

Lamar Odom spent well over a decade in the league and won two championships with the Lakers. He also got honored with the Sixth Man of the Year accolade in 2011. The 43-year-old was a major asset to the team due to his versatility. Recently, he was seen remembering his legendary colleague on social media.

Mamba Mentality That’s why he’s tatted on my Neck so he always in my Ear!!” He made it clear that he still upholds Kobe’s Mamba Mentality and even has got a tattoo in his honor. He was replying to Nike’s post about the upcoming release of the Nike Kobe Series on the late icon’s birthday.

Kobe might have gone away too soon, but he’s set to be remembered by the basketball world for the rest of eternity. Odom will especially never forget his former teammate after what Kobe did for him.

Lamar Odom went through a bit of adversity after his NBA career. Odom was addicted to gambling and reportedly owed a lot of greens to someone. He was in a ton of trouble, according to him. But his former teammate and captain came to his rescue. Lamar revealed Bryant gave him well over six figures to help him repay the debt.

Odom said, “I’m in a hole. I can’t get myself out of it. I don’t got the money to pay it. Called him [Kobe] after he cursed me out, and he said, ‘So you will just have your people call my people.” When asked if his debt was over six figures, he nodded his head in approval.

This is one of the many instances that reveal the kindness portrayed by the late great Kobe Bryant.
