Michael Jordan introduced the world to his Air Jordan sneaker line during his playing days. Before he started his own brand, MJ used to wear Converse and Nike sneakers like everyone else. It was revealed that one of his game-worn Nike Air Ships, worn during his fifth NBA game, is put up for auction once more. It has been almost four decades since the Chicago Bulls legend donned the shoe and in that time its valuation has kept skyrocketing.

Hypebeast reported that Jordan gave the Air Ships to a lucky fan named TJ Lewis who sold the sneakers in an auction in 2021 for a whopping $1,470,000 dollars.

Elaborating on the interesting anecdote of how he landed the pair, Lewis said, “To my surprise he suddenly notices me, looks down and grabs the shoes he wore in the game that night, looks back up at me and asks if I wanted them. Of course, I said yes, found a pen, and had him sign both shoes.”
