“I got to see if I just, my ears just heard what I just think I just heard. And if I heard what I think I just heard, then we have a serious issue.” Earlier this year, Carmelo Anthony explained his ordeal about the infamous beef with Kevin Garnett. In 2013, at the Madison Square Garden, with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter, both players squared up. At the time, there were reports about KG disrespecting La La Anthony. But the Knicks legend, alongside his former teammate, set aside any such notion.

“The sh– that they thought was said, it wasn’t said.” Alongside Carmelo Anthony was his former teammate Iman Shumpert, who was part of the Knicks setup from 2011 to 2013. “I was there this sh– was never said. Why would they think dude would get that mad if he said your wife tastes like honey nut Cheerios? Out of the insults that y’all could do is y’all tryna promote a cereal brand with this.” However, Melo did say that The Ticket crossed the line.

“All I see is KG walking, its five security. I think a whole floor of ushers. They got police officers all type of sh–. KG was like ‘Melo, over a basketball game?‘” Shumpert kicks back with Melo, Rudy Gay, and Kazeem Famuyide to tell the never-heard story of what happened after Melo and KG’s on-court skirmish.

He would later ask if they ever resolved the beef since KG and Melo played together sometime later in the All-Star weekend. Surprisingly, both the veterans never really spoke about the event. That’s why the Knicks legend called the Celtics legend on his podcast. “Nah, this is what I’m saying. We ain’t never get to the bottom of this sh–. Come Holla at us.”

Carmelo Anthony, earlier this year, also made it clear that KG was one of his favorite players. “He was somebody that I respected. He was somebody that I looked up to, he was somebody that was one of my favorite players.” So, the 10x All-Star cleared the air that Garnett did speak ill about La La Anthony.

“I’ve never said anything about anyone’s family,” The Ticket told GQ of the on-court incident when the then-Celtics star was in a physical battle with then-Knicks forward Anthony at MSG. “I’ve never said anything to Melo about La La. I’m a Frosted Flakes man. I’m not a Honey Nut Cheerios guy. I never knew where that came from. Let me clear that up.” Kiyan Anthony’s mother reiterated the same sentiment.

“Kevin Garnett in fact had never said that I tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios,” the actress penned down the controversy in her book. In 2014, ‘The Love Playbook’ she wrote, “I tried to figure out how this big lie was turned into a media firestorm. I still can’t answer that one … Melo and Kevin are cool today. And now it’s nothing but a faint memory.”

So, all three parties, La La Anthony, Carmelo Anthony, and Kevin Garnett, explained different scenarios. But one thing that remained constant was that KG never spoke ill about La La Anthony. So what did he exactly say? We will have to wait for The Ticket to turn up and spill the beans.
