The Jordan World of Flight’s opening in Beijing Sanlitun marks a significant milestone in the brand’s worldwide strategy as well as an era in its quest to expand and innovate. This store is a must-visit for both fashionistas and basketball buffs owing to its well-chosen assortment of Jordan streetwear and performance gear.

But all was not smooth sailing for the 6X NBA champion: the 5X MVP must compensate $46,000 for “emotional damages” and $7,600 for legal expenses from the Qiaodan Sports Company, whose name is the Chinese translation of “Jordan.” This was of course, small change for the legendary player, whose net worth is estimated by Forbes to be $1.6 billion.

This is the “highest expression of basketball culture at retail,” stated a response from Jordan Brand, and every floor is stocked with “the best in Jordan streetwear and performance products.” Additionally, according to a statement from Jordan Brand president Sarah Mensah, “The unveiling of Jordan World of Flight Beijing Sanlitun is a pivotal moment for Jordan’s global strategy, signaling a new chapter for the Brand’s expansion and innovation in China furthering the brand’s international presence.”
