Anyone who’s lucky enough to attend Bass All-Stars should know, only the best have been involved in curating your headliner’s set. Shaquille O’Neal is bringing back the third incarnation of his super successful EDM festival this year. With an amazing lineup in one of the NBA legend-turned-traphead’s favorite cities, O’Neal is pulling out all stops to level up Bass All-Stars. He showed it by giving a little tidbit on X. We now know his buddies at TNT have a little contribution to creating Shaq’s EDM phenomenon. And he’s getting fans involved too.
DJ Diesel revealed this “fun fact” on his alternate X page with two live samples. “Whenever there was a commercial break during the nba playoffs I would force the TNT crew to listen to yalls music …” wrote the big man. with a spoiler about his upcoming festival. “And now we have some heat for my festival in November. which of these new IDs should i open with? first or second.”
The two accompanying clips are from Shaq’s previous performances at other venues. FYI, this is incredibly rare. Apart from a few seconds on his social media, we don’t get complete HQ samples of Shaq’s dubstep mixes outside his live shows or official releases. He’s bringing back two of his best tracks to get fans’ help at making his friends’ job easy.

We know Shaq spends commercials at his TNT job eating, bullying Charles Barkley, making silly Reels, playing with his drone, and not watching games. Who knew he was also putting on a mini EDM show for the crew behind the scenes too?

We picture Ernie and Kenny jamming like typical dads who think they’re cool. Adam Lefkoe and Jamal Crawford look like fanboys ever since the Shaq Diesel album came out in 1992. Candace Parker can be trusted for a honest review. Charles Barkley acts like he doesn’t listen to anything outside country music and Beyonce, but he has a lot of admiration for Shaq encouraging budding artists in rap and EDM.
Maybe they helped narrow down the choices to these two tracks. Upto fans now to pick between them. We’d know the results at the opening of Bass All-Stars.
Shaq’s Bass All-Star is bigger and better
DJ Diesel is coming off a spectacular summer of touring across two continents, debuting the O’Neal Boyz with his son, Myles, and returning to festivals. He’s booked through for the next few months and already got big plans for the holiday season.
After launching it in 2023 and hosting an all-female edition earlier this year, the third Shaq’s Bass All-Star festival will be held on November 16, 2024. Much like the first one, the festival returns to Panther Island Pavilion in Dallas-Fort Worth. Remember Shaq’s team added special soundproofing and safety measures to the venue last time.
