Dancing With The Star is back after a week off, but nothing that’d make Dwight Howard too happy. Yes, the former NBA star received low scores and the fans are not super happy about it. In fact, some even didn’t hold back from lashing out at the judges on social media platforms.

As reported by Sporting News, the show did not air last week because of the Vice Presidential debate. However, to compensate for it for the fans, the show decided to have two episodes this week — Monday and Tuesday.

The Monday episode, however, may have been well received by anyone but fans of Dwight Howard or his dance partner Daniella Karagach. They got the second-lowest score (24) of all the contestants on the show. The only one to score lower was actor Reginald VelJohnson (23) points.

Notably, Howard had an impressive start to the show. After two weeks into it, he secured the second spot for himself in terms of combined scores for the two weeks. However, D12 and Karagach had already expressed their concerns about the recent episode. “This week we had to travel… We got barely any practice. So I am stressing out because the cha-cha is the hardest dance we’re gonna do all season and we are learning to do this in two days,” Karagach said in a pre-taped video.

“I’m really nervous compared to the last couple of weeks. I should definitely know more steps by now,” Howard added to that. But despite everything, the fans of the two stars believed the pair did much better than what judges perceived of their performance. However, there were also some on social media who took the opportunity to take shots at the former NBA star.

Fans react to Dwight Howard’s latest updates on DWTS

Fans were quite vocal about their support for the 2020 NBA champ. All you have to do is check out the comment section of his IG post, featuring snaps of his performance from the recent episode.

“I’m sorry but Carrie Ann is easily the worst judge. Her comments are not consistent and neither is her scoring!! He (Dwight) deserved better,” wrote an IG user. And this is not a rare opinion as the crowd immediately started booing Carrie Ann Inaba after her remarks on the pair — “… That was hard to watch.” And a similar sentiment, as that of the crowd, echoed in the comment section about this particular take of Ann. “”hard watch” was insane to say the least,” wrote one IG user.

Meanwhile, fans had no less frustration against Derek Bruce Hough for giving the lowest score (5) to Dwight Howard among all the judges. “derek’s 5 after all the other over scored dances we’ve seen tonight ??????????” — this should reflect the said frustration against Hough.

Meanwhile, one user had hilarious assumption regarding Karagach’s response to the low scores by judges. “Daniella was bout to throw hands at Derek for that 5 🤣,” he wrote. Notably, Howard’s dance partner from DWTS has been quite successful in the field–from gaining international recognition to winning the DWTS. In fact, she was the one who made Iman Shumpert the first basketball player to win the show. So after all this experience, the hilarious assumption by the IG user may as well make some sense.

However, it also proved to an opportunity for some to remind Howard about a misstep, not on the dance floor though.

Before sharing the snaps from his recent performance, the ex-NBA star shared some moments from his practice session in a post on X. One user expressed his frustration on a promise not kept by Howard. “#BALL? You rugged the people they loved. Where is the $ball token recovery that you promised?” he wrote another user.

For those who are not aware, D12 had, earlier this year, announced of launching a collection of 3,000 NFTs on the Avalanche network. But when the 3,000-piece profile picture (PFP) collection, Ballers by Dwight Howard came out, it did not turn out to be how the ex-NBA star would’ve expected. The results were terrible. But in an attempt to attract more collectors, Howard promised that for every 100 additional Baller NFTs being minted, he would himself transfer 1 AVAX ($30 approx.) to ten different Ballers holders.

However, it seems the 8x All Star has not been able to completely keep up with his word.

Regardless, it is some experience for the 3x DOPY. While there is no changing the judgement that has been delivered, it’s to be seen if Howard and Karagach can bounce back stronger in the next episode.

Stay tuned for more updates. Join us for the exciting second episode of the “Dual Threat Show” as our host, BG12, sits down with Georgia Bulldogs star and Mountain West All-Freshman Team Selection, Asia Avinger.
