Kevin Garnett mentions, “I wish Rob Williams could be with this Celtics group. Real Sh*t.” He further explains, “Because Rob Williams to back up or play with Porzingis…I’m just so worried about Porzingis man. He’s the East Coast AD. When it comes to the glass man. He fall and oh man, they out. Two weeks, four weeks, over a toenail. You know what I’m saying.”.

His former teammate and a Boston Celtics legend himself, Paul Pierce interjects, “You don’t have to worry about him. Because you don’t have the high expectations of him (Porzingis) being your number one player or your number two player.”.

Paul Pierce further explains, “AD got different pressures on him.“. Garnett agrees with his former teammate as he says, “Yeah he (AD) do. He do. He’s it. AD is it. AD’s the first option. I would say Porzingis probably third or whatever.”.

The legendary Boston Celtics duo agree that they would be content with Porzingis having a big game night once in a while as long as the team keeps winning. However, the former NBA veterans’ have growing concerns about the Boston Celtics star after their first regular season loss to the team that drafted Garnett, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

However, after their 114-109 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the NBA professionals like Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce seemed to have found a chink in the Celtics’ armor.

Despite it being too early to make serious claims, Kevin Garnett is of the opinion that unnecessarily extra reliance on Kristaps Porzingis (still in his first season for Boston) can prove to be counterproductive. Instead, more focus should be put on having a deep bench that can make up for nights when the Boston Celtics do not perform. This begs the million-dollar question, can the current Celtics squad recreate the success of the iconic 2007-2008 Boston Celtics team?
