Caitlin Clark has captured the hearts of the WNBA viewers. Coming off from an exemplary NCAA season, Clark’s dominance and popularity have resulted in the Indiana Fever suddenly recording full houses. The WNBA sales have increased by almost 93%. The league is expected to earn so much that the WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert announced that the WNBA will sponsor private planes for its athletes. However, there is also an anti-Clark narrative circulating in the league.

Under the hush hush of gossip, many NBA personalities including Charles Barkley and LeBron James have hinted that Clark is being hated by the women athletes for her popularity. Though Barkley came as far as saying that Clark isn’t the best WNBA player, he asked the WNBA ballers to respect Clark because of her popularity which is helping their league rake up money. And now former Atlanta Hawks point guard Jeff Teague has come forward to support Clark and has opined that his relative plays basketball and wishes that they would earn $50 million. But, it is all thanks to the NCAA Queen.

Jeff Teague was present in a podcast where he spoke at length about the Clark effect that has taken over the WNBA. Teague and the other participants were discussing about the Clark fever when he chose to voice his perspective. As per him, Clark is advancing the game and it is due to her that the league will become more popular and make more money which in turn can be rotated back to higher salaries for WNBA athletes.

Listen I wanted to be…I wanted it to be as big as the NBA. I, my, niece play basketball. I know a bunch of little girls who hoop I want them to go and make $50 million too but like y’all not going to get there without her being the front runner for it,” Teague stated in the Club 520 Podcast.

The New York Liberty got a record-breaking $2 million in revenue during their game against the Indiana Fever. It is speculated that the fans had come in to watch Clark. Even the Connecticut Sun’s clash with the Fever had about 2 million viewers tuning in. Therefore, Clark has definitely advanced women’s sports. She recently made headlines due to a scuffle in her game against the Seattle Storm.

Caitlin Clark draws attention to her altercation

Clark was in the news when she had an altercation with the Seattle Storm guard Victoria Vivians. Vivians spoke something to Clark that didn’t go down well with her. She charged at Vivians who also didn’t back down and used her voice to give it back to Clark.

The argument was caught on camera and had the Fever star Aliyah Boston taking Clark away from the situation. A number of balling personalities including the Storms’ head coach Noelle Quinn came out and expressed that events like this are in good spirits and a part of the competition.
