“Open up to a woman? Never,” Shaquille O’Neal still stands firm in his belief. He feels that a man shouldn’t emotionally open up to women during dating. He believes that revealing emotional weaknesses could be taken advantage of. This is one of the strict dating rules he has advised others to practice as well! However, when it comes to marriage, “The Big Aristotle” has one major condition that might make him break his own rule. As he looks toward new aspirations, he may end up proving his own predictions wrong!

During his latest appearance on the It’s Giving podcast, the Lakers legend shared several surprising revelations! One of them was that he might be interested in getting married again. When Sarah Fontenot asked about marriage, O’Neal shared that he would need the right circumstances to get married. 

Sharing what an individual should look for in a partner, he said, “I think people need to focus more on compatibility yeah rather than the material things you know why that like you need to like I would I’d be trying to sit around and create the perfect scenario. So my perfect scenario would be I work you work all right see you later do your thing I do my thing doesn’t matter who gets home first as the protector provider and lover.”

When Fontenot asked whether O’Neal would get married, he responded, “yeah of course.” Not only did he share his conditions for marriage, but he also joked about a suitable prospect, an Arab princess.

I’d marry me a one of those rich Arab princesses right now.” He added that the only three things needed for a happy marriage are emotional stability, physical stability, and respect. However, he has one issue that he mentioned in the podcast as well.

Shaquille O’Neal explains the challenges of getting married

During Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel, the WNBA player asked the same question to O’Neal. However, O’Neal had a different answer back then. In response to Reese’s question, he said, “I’m gonna end up alone. I already know it. Because y’all be making rules up as you go along. There’s no handbook on how to be the perfect man or perfect husband,” the Los Angeles Lakers legend said.

Even in conversation with Fontenot, O’Neal expressed his doubt with one factor. O’Neal says that he is scared of getting married. He admitted that he wants to know if a relationship will be long-term and perfect from every angle to avoid divorce.
