Mental fog. That’s what Dwyane Wade was dealing with in 2023, but he was determined to find a solution. So when a friend recommended hot yoga, he decided to try it out. “It was 75 minutes I was not prepared for,” was his first reaction. For Wade, hot yoga posed a physical and mental challenge.

“It’s a mental challenge to be in there, and I mentally have to be so locked in, and it’s hard to be locked in at 6:30 in the morning, and doing all those things. I was like, oh, I’m looking for this challenge. So that’s what got me into it, was the challenge of the mental mind trying to escape, and it’s something I want to be consistent about.”

And so, hot yoga became his go-to in order to stay fit after retirement. In fact, in a new update on Instagram, the 42-year-old showed how he still swears by it. After a busy schedule this week, Flash was spotted taking a dip in an icy cold bath to relax his nerves this time. His closest friends joined him for the retreat. One of them shared a snippet of the squad traveling on a bus, heading back to the retreat. The IG story, reshared by Wade, was captioned, “Morning Sade to Yoga. With @dwyanewade Men’s Wellness Retreat.”

Other clips shared by Wade on his IG story show the NBA legend taking part in an “Incredible exercise on Forgiveness, Honesty, Grief, and Anger,” playing a golf simulator and enjoying the resort. He also gave a shoutout to the Men’s Wellness Timeout Retreat, which also included a mindfulness talk session and more.

While there were no stories of the crew doing hot yoga, that’s a common activity for Wade and his friends. In fact, Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, had previously stated that the Miami Heat legend loves it. If Wade loves yoga so much, why does Gabrielle Union hate it?

Dwyane Wade’s wife Gabrielle Union faced an embarrassing moment during yoga!

Unlike her athlete husband, the ‘Bring It On’ actress hasn’t warmed up to it, despite trying it out several times. “I don’t love hot yoga. I’ve actually done it I-don’t-know-how-many times. Every time, I say, Ok, this is my last time. I don’t think I’m built for it. But something always brings me back and I go, ‘Why am I here?’ It’s just not for me,” Gabrielle said.

My husband swears by it though. He has a whole crew. They go daily. I’ll be at pilates””in the air conditioning.”

However, she still ended up joining Wade a few times. On one occasion, she even attempted a hip-opening session, which she was unprepared for. During the session, Union began bawling and crying. The practice is known to release locked-in emotions and stress. “I was heaving and sobbing like I was at a funeral. I was so embarrassed. It unlocked something that I was not ready to deal with,” Union explained the effect of hip-opening classes last year.

But for Wade, hot yoga motivated him. He would even endure up to 100-degree heat. Wade, who has also partnered with the wellness brand Thorne, encourages his family to join in his practices. He loves Thorne’s Daily Greens.

“I don’t really eat a lot of greens on my own, you’ve got to force me,” Wade admitted earlier this year. “Understanding what that gives me, I need that. I need focus.”

However, Wade and Union both love to stay fit and focus on their wellness. So what if their preferred methods are different, right?
