I’m here right now, we’re present right now, but I know this moment goes way beyond just now and way beyond the years that I was in life.” Dwyane Wade explained the importance of his statue and continued his celebration with his family. But black clouds quickly took over the ‘This is my house’ statue. After the unveiling, people on the internet have been criticizing and expressing feelings of disrespect towards the Heat legend. Just like the 3x Champion, even his wife cleared the air about the issue.

The first player in the Heat franchise to receive such an honor spoke to the media right after the unveiling of the statue. “The social media world is about opinions. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone, use y’all opinions. Please talk more about us. Talk more about a statue, come on down to see it, take some photos, send some memes.” Multiple times, Dwyane Wade explained how emotional this week has been for him and the family.

Especially the moment when his eldest, Zaire, spoke before the unveiling. And it was none other than Kaavia, who quickly hugged her father and tried to console the 42-year-old. Despite the emotional week, the fans shared the major criticism was towards the artists for not detailing Dwyane Wade‘s face to the T.

Dwyane Wade statue sculptor’s reaction after fans’ backlash

The Studio Rotblatt Amrany has been responsible for 300 bronze sculptures which also include some of the NBA legends. From Dwyane Wade’s idol Michael Jordan and his 15-foot statue ‘The Spirit,’ at the United Center celebrating his first retirement in 1994. To Kobe Bryant’s two statues which were unveiled early this year. ‘Black Mamba‘ statue and ‘Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue.’

Omri Amrany one of the sculptors said,” I couldn’t do better than that. I don’t think anybody else can do better than that. It is what it is, and we will love it forever.” Apart from Amrany, Oscar León was also responsible for building the statue and previously explained Dwyane Wade’s reaction during the process. “He walked away very happy. By that last visit, he had basically seen everything he wanted to see. We made all the adjustments he wanted,” via the 7 News Miami.

Dwyane Wade seemingly feels the same way, as he reposted his wife’s earlier story. The entire family is focusing on the positives from the week as they take in the once-in-a-lifetime moment. Maybe that’s why both Wade and Gabrielle Union aren’t paying any attention to the criticism.
