Dwyane Wade was spotted on an outing with his “favorite woman” but it was not Gabrielle Union Wade. The easiest first guess. But if your next guess is his daughter Kaavia or Zaya, you might be wrong once again. Can you guess who the person was? No cookie points for trying. Yes, the former NBA star had a day out with his mother Jolinda Wade.
However, Gab was nowhere to be seen with the mother-son duo in the multiple photos D-Wade shared on his IG story. “Took my favorite woman on a lunch date yesterday,” read the caption to one photo, featuring Jolinda. Prior to this, both of them posed while wearing the sunglasses from the Zaya Wade x Warby Parker collection.
Notably, Zaya collaborated with Warby Parker back in September this year to launch a new product for her range of premium glasses. Back then she only had her father’s support, now she has her father and grandma’s support as well! “Proud Grandma and Pops. Rocking out sunnies by @zayawade @warbyparker yesterday at lunch,” Wade captioned the photo shared by him.

As far as Gabrielle Union Wade’s absence is concerned, there are no reports of her exact whereabouts during the time Dwyane Wade and Jolinda went for a lunch date. However, we do know from the 51-year-old’s IG story that she was recently occupied with her friend Tia Mowry’s premiere.

For those who are not aware, Mowry recently worked on a reality show — Tia Mowry: My Next Act. The show follows her post-divorce life. This includes navigating her way around motherhood as an independent woman. The first episode of the show aired earlier this week. Union re-shared an IG story from the premiere captioned, “Us trying to act professional at Tia’s premiere.” However, did you know Wyade had a crush on his wife for the longest time ever?
Dwyane Wade reveals he had a crush on Gab even before he landed in the NBA
The Miami Heat icon recently opened up about something many fans might find surprising—he’s had a crush on his wife, Gabrielle Union, since long before they even met. Imagine being a teenager, and seeing your future wife on TV. Not having a clue that one day you’d actually marry her.
During a candid chat on Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel, Wade let it slip that he was already in awe of Gab back when she was dominating screens in the ’90s and early 2000s. “My wife has been a celebrity for a very long time. I grew up a h*rny little boy… I was crushing on her when I was young, for sure,” he said.

You can almost picture teenage Wade in Chicago, glued to the TV, watching Moesha or Sister, unknowingly admiring his future spouse. Fast forward to 2000, when Union starred as Isis in Bring It On. Wade was just an 18-year-old freshman at Marquette University, and she was already a household name. There is not an ounce of doubt after this confession that Gab, too, has been his favorite woman for a long enough time now.
