One thing every NBA player knows is that the league will seize every opportunity to make money. Two NBA legends recently predicted a possibility in the near future where diehard fans can get up close and personal with the players more than courtside seats could ever do. This takes us back to the most epic moment one famous fan tried to get the attention of NBA great Kobe Bryant. There was no breaking Black Mamba‘s concentration during a game, though.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce did a whole skit on?KG Certified?picturing a possible future where fans and pros will be seated together during a game. They predict that Adam Silver’s league will charge a bomb for this opportunity. At least one Tinseltown A-Lister would’ve paid to get an opportunity like that.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce got brutal on?KG Certified?this week. In the latest satirical jab at the NBA, the retired pros may have given the league an idea to cater to celebrities. Pierce cheekily explained that the NBA could sell tickets to sit with the players on the bench in a game. And they could charge a fair price for that.

The NBA will sell seats on the bench with players one day… they could pick one of these four seats on the bench and at the end, there’s gonna be a premium,”?The Truth dropped this truth bomb. This idea has been floating around and neither the fans are happy, nor are the pros such as Garnett.

KG was both amused and appalled at the suggestion. But the former ESPN host was adamant this was a foolproof business idea. “That’s a $20,000 seat. It’s only for regular season. 20 stacks and you can sit right in the middle of the bench. That’s gonna be lit because you’re gonna have celebrities sitting there.”

As outlandish as it sounds, there is a “superfan” or two who would dream about sitting next to Stephen Curry or LeBron James. The only drawback is there’s no protection from unruly behavior. Even Garnett and Pierce are aware. That didn’t stop them from improvising a skit about a fan sitting with the players while they’re in the zone.

This scheme is specially catered to the celebrities who are often courtside with the closest view of the players. That’s when a staff behind the camera reminded Garnett and Pierce of a famous incident where a celebrity tried to get close to the Black Mamba.

That time Kobe Bryant didn’t find Chris Rock funny

Before his Oscar-related infamy, Chris Rock managed to get half of the Lakers nation mad at him. As the KG Certified?crew reminded that there’s actual video evidence of Chris Rock trying to talk to Kobe during a game.

The comedian was seated courtside during a game at the Staples Center, within arm’s length of NBA royalty. During a timeout while Bryant was on the bench, the camera panned to show Rock trying to make conversation with Bryant, telling him jokes, and imploring for his attention. But Bryant was in the zone. He not only ignored the actor, he was straight-up indifferent to his existence.

The?KG Certified?hosts remember that incident well. Garnett even said, “Kobe’s in the zone.” Which only drove Pierce to emphasize, “Why wouldn’t you sell that?” The answer is obvious. The old-fashioned way is less risky.
