Snaps of Michael Jordan enjoying summer with his wife, Yvette Prieto, were making the rounds just a few days ago. It’s usually around this time that we catch a glimpse of MJ’s wife and twin daughters. There’s only little known about the Cuban model’s family. One of Prieto’s family members even runs a business that rivals MJ’s son Marcus’s business.
Surprisingly, Prieto’s brother has also ventured into the sports industry. Since MJ is one of the biggest names in sports, it makes sense for his brother-in-law to own a store that would deal with everything related to sports.
Carlos Prieto is the founder of SoleFly

It’s not known whether Jordan influenced Prieto to venture into this business. However, Carlos launched his store two years after Jordan began dating Yvette. He met the model at a club in 2008. The two moved in together after a year and later tied the knot in 2013.
While His Airness doesn’t seem to keep his vacations under wraps as he cruises around Europe, that carefree attitude gets switched off quickly when he returns to his business. It will likely be next year again that we get another snap of the couple enjoying some good time.
Prieto opened his sneaker store, SoleFly, in 2010. Over the years, he has poured immense effort and energy into his business, and looking at the store’s current standing, it is quite evident. “SoleFly is a collective of unique individuals who strive to revitalize stories that are told by the most prominent brands in the industry. While also promoting the genuineness of the sneaker culture that we all are a part of,” the official site states.

Have an interesting take?
There have been several mind-blowing collaborations and high-profile partnerships that the brand takes great pride in. One such collaboration that pays homage to Prieto’s Cuban roots is with G-Shock for the Heirloom timepiece.
What does the SoleFly specialize in?
Carlos is the founder and co-owner of SoleFly, along with Danny Hidalgo. The store features some of the most tantalizing products, such as eye-catching sneakers from top brands. It includes collections from MJ’s brands Jordan and Nike, exclusive features from Comme des Garçons, and their own signature SOLEFLY line.
The store has become a household name among celebrities and sneaker enthusiasts. Celebrities like DJ Khaled, J Balvin, and others are frequently associated with the brand. But that’s not all. With two successful stores, the brand is looking to expand its presence.
It started with a store in South Miami, then expanded to Cutler Bay, and is now aiming to captivate customers in Downtown Doral. The store sprawling across 2,808 sq ft is perched right across Pura Vida. His Instagram, which has 14.7k followers, has just one picture with MJ.
He also owns Midway Sports, which deals with all the sports apparel from Nike and impressive collectibles.
Why did Marcus Jordan name his sneaker boutique Trophy Room?
While SoleFly has been in the industry for quite some time, Trophy Room is relatively new. Without relying on his father’s help, Marcus began his own journey to establish a store, and finally, in 2016, he opened the sneaker boutique Trophy Room in Orlando.
“Through relationships with Jordan Brand, Nike Inc., & Upper Deck Authenticated, TROPHY ROOM aspires to offer footwear, apparel, and memorabilia that will serve as trophies to its loyal and dedicated consumers,” the official site reads.

It was named after the glamorous room in MJ’s home that housed all of Jordan’s awards and accolades. However, he closed the store in 2018 to transition it into an online platform. It wasn’t an easy journey for Marcus. He also had to face backdooring allegations during this time. Finally, in 2022, he reopened the store with some stunning creations and has been going strong since. Although both stores have a connection with the Chicago Bulls legend’s brand, they are renowned for their work.
