Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s marriage is over
She met Shumpert at a party in 2011. However, the two began dating in 2013. After two years, she married the then-New York Knicks forward. Shumpert spent 11 years in the league. He won an NBA championship in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He retired from the NBA in 2021. In the same year, he won a celebrity dance competition show, Dancing with the Stars.
The two welcomed their first daughter, Junie Tayla Shumpert Jr. on December 16, 2015. Shumpert and Taylor’s youngest daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, was born in 2020. “I couldn’t be happier than to share my first child with the woman I intended to have my family with,” Shumpert wrote in a post shared on Facebook.
Fans were able to get a closer look at Taylor and her family with the NBA player in the VH1’s Teyana and Iman and E!’s We Got Love Teyana & Iman Beginning which were released in 2018 and 2021, respectively. However, things turned for the worse following that.
Despite Taylor’s efforts to keep their divorce proceedings a secret from the public, the documents featuring just the initials of the two were leaked soon after the media found out in November last year. While Taylor filed for divorce initially in January 2023, the two only reached a settlement a few days ago, as per The Jasmine Brand.
As per Daily Mail, Shumpert had requested a reduction in his payment for child support. He claimed that his monthly earnings were around $47,981 and therefore asked for a revision in his $8000 child support payment. The retired NBA player further argued that his ex-wife earns $98,885. Taylor countered it as she noted that Shumpert took out $4 million from their joint account.
