After Dwyane Wade‘s Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the attention was suddenly shifted to his father. Of course, the reason was Wade giving a heart-tugging tribute to his dad. But there was another reason that caught the female fans’ interest. Despite being in his 60s, Dwyane Wade Sr. looked nothing like that. With his dashing youthful looks attracting attention on social media, numerous proposals asking whether Wade Senior is single also came his way. The answer is no.

While we are well aware of Wade’s bond with his father, not much is known about his step-mom, Danielle Koping. Here is everything that you need to know about Koping and how she met the basketball star’s father.

Wade Senior met his current wife through work. He is the CEO and founder of the ProPops Foundation. During a ProPops event in 2011, he was introduced to Koping. While it isn’t mentioned what brought Koping to the event, we can only call it destiny. Koping herself is an entrepreneur, and after meeting Wade Sr., she also became a part of the ProPops Foundation.

After confirming that his son was content and thriving in his career, Wade Sr. decided to propose to Koping in 2016. For this special moment, he chose the annual Father’s Day event of his foundation. His family and close friends were also in attendance. Finally, Wade Sr. and Danielle Koping said their vows in 2018. This was Wade Sr.’s third marriage. Before that, he was married to Wade’s mother Jolinda Wade for 10 years.

Koping and Wade Sr.’s love is stronger than ever, as Koping recently shared a snap of her sitting beside her husband on her Instagram handle and captioned it ‘Love is life’ with a heart emoji.

The couple chose a dreamy hotel in Venice as their wedding destination.

Danielle and Wade Sr.’s wedding was held at Hotel Excelsior in Italy on August 17, 2018, the same day as Koping’s birthday. “Planning an international wedding is not easy! With family and friends traveling from different cities, the translation confusion, and time zones, it was challenging,” Wade’s stepmom said in a conversation with Brides magazine which covered the entire event.

Pictures of Koping clad in a white beaded Netta BenShabu bridal gown walking down the aisle, Wade and his wife Gabrielle Union sharing an adorable moment, and Danielle’s son Martin smiling brightly at the couple were the highlights.

About the wedding event, Danielle said, “We had a simple wedding with no wedding party. At this stage in our lives, we’re ‘no fuss.’ Our kids matched us in light, romantic tones, and we were a true depiction of our blended family.” Wade Sr. also held a similar opinion and shared, “Our kids also made my night. They had such lovely things to say and it was good to have our loved ones all around. We are blessed.”
