The Jordan brand has been one of constant reinvention. Whether during its preliminary days or since then, the brand has been the gold standard of sneakers. However, a big part of that continued success has been the constant collaborations. Due to the connection to Michael Jordan and the brand’s value, celebrities are ready to link with the iconic company.

Over the years, many iconic brands, too, have taken their chance to shine with the brand. Among them, Dior and Off-White made significant waves in 2020. However, one of the original and best collaborators was Kaws in 2017.

This year, the brand saw some amazing crossovers come to life. But none was as big as the one with platinum rapper Travis Scott. That collaboration has already given the Jordan brand a spot on the Top-10 Sneaker rankings for the year. Previously, their versions from 2021 also garnered much acclaim.

However, there is one more product coming from that collaborative line. According to reports, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low could come in a unique Black/Olive colorway later in the year.

After the critical and commercial success of the line, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the team decided to make a few more iterations.

Michael Jordan crossover giving more results

While the year was awash with some brilliant sneaker designs, Nike stood out in the end-of-the-year race. Whether it was products from the Jordan brand or Nike originals, 9 of the top 10 had the Swoosh on them. Another Travis Scott collaboration also made it into the top 10.

However, their chief competitor this year was New Balance. Going through a renaissance, the Kawhi Leonard-led brand has made a significant comeback onto the scene. However, with the top 4 spots all belonging to Nike, their dominant run looks set to continue.

But, as fans of either party would know, this isn’t their first co-project. Instead, the two have been in collaboration for quite some time now, with the results almost always iconic.

The Jordan x Travis Scott collab history

The beginnings of his work relations with the brand can be traced all the way back to Cactus Jack. A sub-brand of his creation, it was in a similar line to his mentor Kanye West’s Adidas deal with Yeezy. But, what separates Travis’ work from other Jordan collaborations is that he himself chooses the designs.

As his stock has grown, so has the Travis Scott x Jordan brand. As a result, his shoes are a must-have for sneakerheads. Due to his passion for the forte, and excellence at it, most of the results are top-notch in style and quality.

Through his many collaborations with the company, Forbes estimates that Travis is earning nearly $10 million per year through shoe cuts alone. But, that value doesn’t give a full account of the impact the relationship has had on La Flame. Because of the success of his Jordan line, all other partnerships came increasingly quickly.

While he would no doubt have found similar levels of success on his own, the Jordan brand stamp of approval did help matters along quickly. Whether it was relatively smaller brands like Playstation or giants like McDonalds, everyone wanted a piece of the Travis Scott pie.
