After a distinguished career, Carmelo Anthony retired from the NBA in 2023. Following this, the former player shifted his attention to his business and family. The athlete often fondly gushes over his son in his interviews. Over the past few years, the 16-year-old has found a new love and prowess for his favorite sport. While the young player now aspires to join the NBA  like his father, he has seen a major growth spurt as well. So much so that famed comedian Kevin Hart had to reject one of his friendly invitations.

Melo recently joined the Hollywood star Hart for a conversation. The two sat for an episode of ‘Gold Minds with Kevin Hart,’ at the SiriusXM Miami studio.

As soon as the spotlight was turned to Carmelo’s son Kiyan Anthony, the host revealed that he was utterly shocked to see the 16-year-old’s transformation. While the father, sitting opposite the actor, smiled at his response, the 44-year-old kept expressing his astonishment at Kiyan’s towering height. Kevin Hart, who is 5’2, said, “He’s got tall overnight. What the f**k happened? God damn Kiyan. He showed up one day 6 ft. What the f**k happened to you man.”

Notably, Kiyan is also gaining attention from various colleges. Among his offers is his father’s alma mater, Syracuse University.

As the 10x All-Star laughed at his reaction, Hart quickly added, “He was shaking my hands, grown a** man; You wanna play basketball? F**k no, I don’t wanna play basketball with you.”

The 10-inch height difference between the comedian and the teenager forced Kevin Hart to reject Kiyan’s invitation to shoot around. Given the Melo killer instinct, it might have been the right call! Following this, the New York Knicks legend continued to talk about his 6’3 son.
