Being the son of an NBA legend comes with being under the spotlight all the time. Marcus Jordan knows this feeling all too well. The son of basketball legend Michael Jordan has seen his fair share of media attention over the years. Mostly, because of his high-end sneaker store called the “Trophy Room“, and his love life that included an alleged relationship with Larsa Pippen, ex-wife of Scottie Pippen.
However, in a serious turn of events, reported by TMZ, Marcus was thrown behind bars on Monday in Florida. Why? You might be wondering. Well, according to several reports, the 34-year-old was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail for DUI, c–aine possession, and also for resisting arrest. Moreover, Marcus also posed for a mugshot after being arrested by the Maitland Police Department. By the looks of the mugshot, he doesn’t appear too happy about the situation.
Also, his bonds for these offenses are reportedly listed at– $500 for resisting arrest without violence, $1000 for DUI property damage or personal injury, and $2500 for possession of c**aine. Moreover, this sets his total bond at $4000 for all the charges. This also leads us to a question: Will Marcus Jordan face a sentence for these offenses? Well, at the moment, there’s not much information regarding this. However, for DUI the punishment can include fines, imprisonment, treatment, community service, and even probation.

As for the possession of c–aine charge, it can vary from the amount in possession and also on previous offenses if any. The potential sentence can range anywhere from a year in prison for less than 500 milligrams to 15 years for 1/8 ounce of c–aine or a c–aine mixture. Lastly, for resisting arrest without violence the penalties could be up to a year in jail or probation, and fines reaching $1000. That said, this isn’t Marcus’ first brush with the law. He’s previously made the news for other offenses as well. Let’s get to know more about the previous incident.

Back in 2012, Marcus was arrested allegedly for causing a disturbance at a hotel
The recent situation isn’t the first time Marcus Jordan has made the headlines over the wrong kind of reasons. Back in 2012, Marcus was playing for the University of Central Florida as a shooting guard. While staying at a hotel in Omaha, Nebraska the then 21-year-old seemingly was involved in an altercation. Furthermore, the Police described the incident as a drunken altercation outside the hotel in Omaha. Moreover, Jordan was labeled as “animated, intoxicated, and uncooperative” by the police authorities.
The police were called to the scene late at night at 2:11 a.m. after an off-duty officer asked for help subduing Jordan. He was in an argument with two women in the hotel driveway according to the police reports. “After a brief struggle, it took multiple officers to control and handcuff the suspect,” the press release stated. Following this, the UCF student-athlete was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice.

Jordan was booked into the Douglas County Department of Corrections and later he was released. So, Marcus Jordan has had past encounters with the law and police. However, this time around he could face more consequences, given the stature of the charges against him if proven guilty.
