Being the son of Michael Jordan had its troubles. Despite having millions to his name, Marcus Jordan found it difficult to step out of his dad’s shadow. However, inspired by the Chicago Bulls legend and the Trophy Room at their home, 33-year-old Marcus started his elevated retail boutique, Trophy Room, back in 2016. With ups and downs along the way, here is a deeper look into the history of the 8-year-old brand.
Despite initially battling allegations that Marcus has been backdooring his sneakers to resellers, Trophy Room and the Jordan Brand are still working together and bringing out new collaborations for the fans.
The trophy room within the Michael Jordan estate is almost like a museum. It showcases Jordan’s numerous achievements over the years, and it eventually became the inspiration for Marcus Jordan. Marcus is partnering with several brands to give fans new and unique products that they can enjoy.

However, the current store is the second iteration. Marcus’ first store in Orlando, which he opened in 2016, was closed three years later. At the time, it was reported that the brand was transitioning completely to an online store.

Later in 2022, his store made a return. This time, Marcus focused more on the core details that he initially wanted to follow when creating his brand. Marcus at the time blamed thieves for stealing the 12,000-pair limited shoes from a Nike distribution center. However, according to Complex, multiple sources came forward accusing the Trophy Room of having sold them numerous pairs of shoes above the retail price even before the sneaker’s release.
In the end, Marcus denied all allegations against him and has gone on to run a successful company. What do you think of Marcus Jordan’s Trophy Room? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
