You’ve seen Chuck the no-holds-barred sportscaster. Now’s the era of Charles Barkley, primetime talk show extraordinaire. You’d think he was used to overtime play and some extra work after a stacked NBA career. But it doesn’t mean he has to be happy about it. The upside of Barkley’s new gig is his new co-worker, who is way better than the Inside Guys that always tease him.

The new job is, of course, Chuck’s much-anticipated foray into CNN with the amazing Gayle King. Ahead of the show’s premiere, CNN gave a teaser of this new partnership.

When you have the Charles Barkley and Gayle King headlining your primetime slot, there’s no title more fitting than King Charles. The new show premieres on CNN on November 29, airing every other Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST.

The preview of King Charles is here with Sir Charles respectfully going, “We’re tired of the BS.” That’s going to be the central theme of the show led by the veteran interviewer and the unfiltered former athlete.

As King puts it in the promo, “This will be a place that you can have a conversation.” The talk show will host guests and discuss the most interesting occurrences of the week. It will uninhibited, unfiltered, piercing. Or as Barkley describes it, “Anybody who wants everybody to agree with them is an idiot.”

Barkley has a long commute to the new office

In recent weeks, Barkley has been hinting at not seeing his $100 million TNT contract to the end. He’s been dropping hints about riding off into the sunset in the near future. But here he is with a different kind of broadcast gig on his weekly schedule.

Inside the NBA films in Atlanta, Georgia and occasionally on the road. King Charles is filming at CNN HQ in New York. “And I’m not happy about it,” Barkley told his TNT colleague, Ernie Johnson on The Steam Room about doing two different shows a week in two different cities. We have a hard time believing he’s that upset given his excitement to work with the illustrious Gayle King.
