Wade's passion for golf is undeniable—Is he the most versatile athlete of our time?

It seems like Pebble Beach holds a special place in Dwyane Wade’s heart. After that unforgettable moment last year, where he sank his first-ever hole-in-one, Wade declared, “I might as well get golf tattooed on my body.” That moment didn’t just earn him bragging rights but also landed him in the “Pebble Beach Hall of Fame.” And now, fresh off a busy summer at the Paris Olympics, Wade is gearing up to make more memories at Pebble Beach on the exact same day—just like he did a year ago.

Dwyane Wade recently took to Instagram to share a little something that hints at how personal this day has become for him. Captioning his story with “9-29 has become a personal Holiday,” Wade celebrated the anniversary of that epic achievement. He wasn’t shy about letting his followers know how excited he is, saying, “We’re back Pebble Beach, year two, last year this day epicness happened. We’re back headed to the range right now.”

So why does Wade call it “epicness”? Well, for those unfamiliar with golf lingo, a hole-in-one, or ace, is when a player hits the ball from the tee straight into the hole in just one stroke. It’s one of the hardest feats in golf, making Wade as proud as he is of the feat.

Wade further expressed the excitement with a whole post, captioning, “One year ago today I played my cards right & got that Ace.” It also included a video showing him warming up under a foggy sky. Then came the moment—the perfect swing. Wade’s immediate reaction? Dropping his club, sprinting up and down the hills in pure joy, while his friends went wild — pure triumph.

And of course, how could we forget Wade’s iconic shout: “Yeah! My first hole-in-one, baby! At Pebble Beach!” He went on, “I’ve been waiting on this hole for three years! That’s what I’m talking about!” In the comments, fans and friends alike flooded him with congratulations. One account, Eastside Golf, even cheekily dubbed him “Dwyane Woods.” Now that’s a big compliment, considering Wade’s admiration for the legend.

In one episode, none other than Miami Heat legend, Dwyane Wade joined Tiger. The 13x NBA All-Star couldn’t resist bringing up an old memory. He recalled a moment from Tiger Jam over a decade ago. He raised his hand and asked Woods if he could be good at golf. Without hesitation, Tiger shot him down with the “quickest no” Wade had ever heard. “It still holds true,” Wade laughed, acknowledging the brutal honesty. Since retiring from the NBA, Wade has turned his focus to golf, trying to improve his game.

Reflecting on Woods’ game, Wade admitted, “It don’t really make sense… what we would call bad shots in our generation, for him, they’re his shot. He’s totally changed the game, it’s amazing.” A true acknowledgment of greatness, from one legend to another.
