“I’ve learned great lessons from my parents for things on the court and off. I really look up to them,” said Dwyane Wade once. The Flash has long been known for his clutch plays, and three championship rings. Yet, his off-court achievements, particularly his devotion to family, paint a fuller picture of the man behind the legend. Whether it’s publicly supporting his daughter Zaya’s journey with unwavering love or sharing heartwarming moments with his wife Gabrielle Union, Wade consistently exemplifies what it means to be a family man. And this time again the Miami Heat legend has proved why he is so loved by his family.
Wade has been out on quite a few dates with the women of his family off late, and Gab may have missed a couple of times. “Took my favorite woman on a lunch date yesterday,” he revealed in October. It was his mother, Jolinda, he was having the special outing with, sporting the sunglasses that were a part of Zaya’s collaboration with Warby Parker. “Proud Grandma and Pops. Rocking out sunnies by @zayawade @warbyparker yesterday at lunch,” wrote Wade as the caption of the photo.
Days later, he would be out on another lunch date, this time, with his daughter, Zaya. The 17-year-old would even chauffer the Miami Heat icon to their destination. But finally, for his next date, the Flash has Gab by his side.

Wade recently took to his Instagram to post a story with his wife, Gabrielle Union. The couple attended an NFL game between the LA Chargers and the Baltimore Rams at SoFi Stadium, with Wade captioning the post as “Date Night.” While it is not known which team the couple was supporting, in the video it was clearly visible that the couple was enjoying both the energy of the game and the beverages provided.
Wade might as well be in the midst of celebrating the birthday month of his mother, who turned 70 this year. “All of November my first favorite lady is getting celebrated for turning 70th…” he had written on Instagram.
Jolinda Wade’s story is one of transformation and resilience. A former substance abuser who turned her life around, she became a pastor and a pivotal influence in Dwyane’s life. Their public date was a beautiful celebration of her journey and the unconditional love between them. “There is no question I worried about my mother when she was out at night, and loved her so much I couldn’t sleep because I wanted her to come home and let me know she was okay,” wrote Wade in his book.
But the 3x champion is sure dividing his attention well between the women he loves. He also took Gab to Adele’s last Las Vegas show a couple of days ago. “Thank you @dwyanewade for the most epic wrap gift I could imagine,” the Bring It On actress had shared.
If you wanted a glimpse more into the love Wade holds for his family and the people around him and the value they hold for him, he sums it up well with his idea of Thanksgiving.

“There’s a day on the calendar for us to actually make sure we are being thankful to our loved ones, to life, to all the things. And so, my favorite thing about Thanksgiving is be able to start a tradition bring everybody, my family, friends everybody to LA, to my home and to give a big Thanksgiving dinner and so we are about 60, 70 deep every year,” said Wade in the video.
Not only Wade but the whole family enjoys the holiday, and this excitement was quite visible last year when Kaavia, the youngest of the Wade household stole the show by reciting a Thanksgiving prayer in a green dress and red lipstick. For the Wade family, it is all about celebrating love, gratitude, and the joy of being surrounded by loved ones.
