A few hours ago, Pau Gasol took to his official Instagram account to share a post with his 2 Million followers. Featuring 10 pictures, the post featured some highlights from Gasol?s recent trip to Manila. Along with players like Carmelo Anthony, the 43-year-old was invited to the Philippines capital to serve as a global ambassador for the recently held FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Even though Team USA did not reach up to the expectations of basketball fans, being in the presence of the Hall of Famer was a morale booster for everyone.
The pictures highlighted Gasol awarding the MVP trophy to German point guard Dennis Schr?der. They also showed him engaging in various press conferences and other activities. Throughout all of them, the 2x NBA champion seemed to be having the time of his life. Taking to the caption of the post, Gasol praised the ?spectacular? level of play on the courts and the treatment he received from the locals.

The post caught the attention of San Antonio Spurs legend Tony Parker. The Frenchman left a like on the post, thereby stating his stamp of approval of his one-time rival?s foreign trip.

A few months ago, Parker attended a videoconference meeting with members of different media outlets around the world. During the same, he touched base on his French Team?s rivalry with Spain and used the opportunity to extend a compliment to Kobe Bryant?s ?Hermano?.
?We have had a great rivalry with Spain. I always say thank you Pau for being there and pushing me and the French team to be better,? said Parker during the conference.
Both Pau Gasol and Tony Parker were among the four former NBA stars who were recently inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. As the latter was giving his speech during the prestigious, he took a moment to once again bring up how Gasol prevented him and his team from progressing any further.

“So it’s true. Sometime I wish that Paul Gasol was not born because I would have win a lot more gold medals but sooner. But because of you, you pushed me every year to come back with the national team,” said Tony Parker during his HoF speech.
