“And offensively, nobody ever could guard Michael Jordan then. You can only imagine now, with the spacing and the rules.” The Former teammate with MJ and the current coach of the Golden State once ended the debate about any team beating the Bulls. Similarly, agreeing with Steve Kerr is a 5x NBA Champion who has been part of two dynasties. Who even raised a question, “Who is Steph Curry gonna guard?”
During Gimme the Hot Sauce Podcast, Ron Harper defended his Bulls team, where he won three championships. “I will run the post, any chance I get. He (Curry) have to get some elbows, I mean if they playing these modern-day rules where you can’t breathe on a guy. Well if you talking about our rules, it’s too physical.” The host would later pose the question of whether modern rules could cause any hindrance to the Bulls’ playing style.
“We could adapt to any kind of style of basketball they want to play and the problem with today game is if you shooting 60 threes that mean you gonna miss 30 shots. We ain’t gonna beat you on the three-point line we gonna beat you in that two-point line.” Ron Harper appreciated the Warriors and their proficiency from beyond the arc. But that did not mean the Chicago franchise did not have enough in their tank to beat the opposition.

“You gonna have to play catch-up basketball the whole game if you keep missing eight threes and make one-two here, miss six-seven threes all we gonna go get two points, three points at other end.” Harper said on the 201 episode of the podcast, a few days ago. The 60-year-old played with Michael Jordan and Co. during their three-peat. He also played alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal and that’s where he earned 2 more rings.
But one of the current Warriors doesn’t believe in Bulls’ domination. Draymond Green even shared his sentiment on X, “I’m watching the 98 Bulls vs Utah in the Finals… I can’t help but notice our 2017 team would’ve beaten these Bulls by a dub.” In his tweet, he further claimed that the Golden State would beat the Jazz by 40 points and added “if they’re going to play these brands of basketball.” Even Stephen Curry agreed with his teammate.

Stephen Curry explained his reason for overlooking Michael Jordan and Co.
In 2022, on the Players Tribune podcast, Chef Curry said, “It’s the best place to sit because I could be right, I could be wrong ain’t nobody could ever find out.” Steph also explained how Michael Jordan would have been disappointed if the Warriors star had not chosen his team. “The best part is I talked to MJ over the Summer. And he would be disappointed I think If I didn’t have confidence in my team.”

In order to beat the Bulls, one would have measured up mentally and not just physically on the court. “Because If anybody is going to try to measure up to him and the dynasty of the Bulls and you can’t have no other attitude and that, so I love it though… You know how great he is… The greatest ever.”
It’s a great what-if question and a scenario for everybody to rejoice. But the players from the team most of them end up choosing their team. Like Ron Harper and Steve Kerr. Similarly, Green and Curry had confidence in the Warriors to stake their claim as the best ever. Who would you choose for this hypothetical dream match-up?
