Gilbert Arenas says the ‘Alien’ is not yet ready for a championship roster. After an underwhelming first performance, the French phenom has constantly strived to meet people’s expectations. And he has been successful in doing so. However, there’s still one factor that is not fine with Agent Zero. During a conversation on his Gil’s Arena Podcast, NBA legend Gilbert Arenas stated that the Spurs will become a competitive contender once they see Wembanyama is ready to take on the challenge.
“When they see Wemby’s ready to take over is usually how it work,” Arenas said on the Gil’s Arena podcast. His response came after host Josiah Johnson asked about the San Antonio Spurs roster. When a confused Johnson asked if Wembanyama’s mentions in the All-Defensive Team discussion and Rookie of the Year honor were not enough, Arenas responded that the 19-year-old Wembanyama would simply need more experience. He has just shown his raw potential, which will need more honing till the time he is ready to take over.
“He just showed flashes of just his raw potential right it’s when he starts dominating like right now he’s playing freely he’s just playing basketball right like they’re not passing the ball down for him to really just go to work so when he starts showing flashes that he can take over over games then it’s like all right let’s start putting some pieces around him cuz he’s ready,” Arenas explained.

He even gave an example by comparing Luka Doncic‘s current abilities with his performance three years ago. However, there are quite enough instances which show Wembanyama’s potential. Not just fans, even NBA veterans such as Kevin Durant and LeBron James excitedly watched Victor Wembanyama’s debut. But despite thinking that Wembanyama is not ready, Arenas is sure of him making a lot of money from NBA salary.
Gilbert Arenas believes Victor Wembanyama will earn billions from NBA salary
While Arenas believes that San Antonio Spurs star Wembanyama still needs time to become a part of the contender-worthy team, he has faith in the player. He believes that Wembanyama will surely make history and earn billions from NBA salary alone.

“Wemby’s gonna be a billionaire while he’s playing. Faster than LeBron was and then the generation after that. I’m not even talking about off the court, I’m talking about on the court,” Arenas said on his podcast.

No NBA player has ever earned billions from NBA salary alone. Even billionaire LeBron James has made a maximum of $479 million in his career so far. Considering the current NBA era and Wembanyama’s promising talent, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that the French phenom might have a shot at this future.
