“I will play my hardest, yeah but I’m talking about where my heart and my mind is nah stop playing with me,” said Sebastian Telfair about being serious in the NBA. Telfair played 10 years in the NBA representing 8 different teams. The reason for him not concentrating on basketball 24/7 was that he wanted to live a little. Speaking about players who eat, sleep, and drink basketball, Telfair revealed a never-heard story related to Kobe Bryant.
“Have you ever seen Kobe in the club?” Telfair asked, appearing on DJ Vlad’s YouTube Channel. “Never,” replied DJ Vlad. “Kobe had them chicks though,” Telfair further stated. But before explaining, he paused for a second and said, “sh**,” thinking how Kobe Bryant’s wife would react. However, after a few milliseconds, the 39-year-old said, “Vanessa ain’t watching this.”
Talking about the story, Telfair stated that it was when her ex-wife wanted to celebrate her birthday with her friends. And one friend from the group was a ‘baddie’. The group came to LA to celebrate the birthday and it was when Telfair was facing the Lakers. Suddenly the girl went out of contact for about 8 months. Everyone including Telfair was wondering where she was. “We ain’t see her for eight months,” the 39-year-old revealed. The wondering came to an end as she popped up one day and revealed that she was staying in the Palazzo right across The Grove in LA.

“Kobe had them chicks, but he wasn’t in clubs,” Telfair further stressed. “He didn’t have to be,” DJ Vlad remarked. “You gotta live though bro, you gotta live a little bit,” the former point guard said. As per Telfair, there is a current NBA player who has a similar drive for the game as Kobe had, but with a different outlook.
Does LeBron James endorse Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Mentality?
Telfair said he does not like going to clubs either but wants to enjoy a little, and immediately spoke about LeBron James’ lifestyle. “LeBron got the Kobe mentality. LeBron is exactly what I’m talking about. He eats, sleeps, lives basketball but you know all his mind and heart ain’t into that sh**,” said the former Portland Trail Blazers star, highlighting that Bron enjoys his life despite being as intensely into basketball as Kobe.

DJ Vlad agreed and added that LeBron was at the famous Kendrick show. James Harden and Coby White were also present in the concert and Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan even joined Kendrick Lamar on the stage.

Ultimately, Telfair was glad that he was able to put his point across as he had no intention of trying to ‘sh**’ on ‘Mamba Mentality’. He just felt that basketball would never give back enough to an individual to put their entire life into it.
