Michael Phelps Throws Heart Eyes as Devin Booker Uses Michael Jordan’s Brand to Pay Special Homage

Devin Booker gave another Phoenix legend a heartfelt nod. It included a rare sneaker from Michael Jordan‘s empire. The Shawn Marion Jordan 5 PE is one of Shawn Marion’s signature shoes in the Jordan Brand. Not only fans loved the repping, even one of the greatest swimmers in US history was over the moon.

The official Phoenix Suns page shared the snaps of Booker’s sneakers with the message, “Respect for the legend. Book wearing the Shawn Marion Jordan 5 PE.” Among the fans in the comments was Michael Phelps with heart eye and fire emojis.

Booker marked a special occasion with this homage. He was present on the occasion Shawn Marion would be inducted into the Ring of Fire.

Before the tip-off against the New York Knicks, Book was warming up in Shawn Marion’s Jordans. Some fans pointed out that Marion himself doesn’t own the rare sneakers with the Suns colorway and no. 31 stitched on.

Former Suns forward, PJ Tucker is also one of the few fortunate people to have a pair of these sneakers. He was sporting them in 2016 and reports state that Tucker has both the black and white pairs.

The man of honor himself was touched by the pro. “Book is something special and I’m gonna tell you he’s one of the few guys who definitely pays respect and homage to the guys who paved the way before him,” Shawn Marion told the media.

Michael Phelps is a huge fan of Michael Jordan in general and he was in awe of Booker’s gesture. The Suns’ lethal scoring machine will impress him further with his jaw-dropping sneaker collection.

The avid sneakerhead has a Jordan for every occasion in his exclusive sneaker closet. He’s said to own a pair of 1985 Kentucky Jordan which he wore on the cover of Kicks magazine in 2021, among other classic kicks.

He was known to sport rare Nike Kobes too. In a tour of his sneaker closet, he revealed his Chuck Taylors, Air Jordans 1s and 3s, Blazers, Air Force 1s and Dunks. Book didn’t play in the Shawn Marion Jordans though.

He switched to his own signature Nike shoes, the Book 1s after warmups.  They symbolize he’s in an elite club with His Airness and he owns the honor well.
