The Los Angeles Lakers legend has his eye on almost every famous sport in the world and has been actively following the ongoing World Athletics Championship as well. The US gymnastics team hasn’t fared well over the past two years, mostly due to the absence of 26-year-old Simone Biles. Fans have been clamoring for the return of the 4x Olympic Gold medallist ever since she took a break following the Tokyo Olympics. Now that she made her grand comeback on the big stage, guess who was there to support her among millions of her fans? None other than Magic himself. 

Fans indeed had high hopes for Biles’ return. Anyhow, looks like the young superstar has delivered more than what was expected. Well, Johnson also believes Biles has returned to her prime! 

Magic Johnson welcomes back Simone Biles with a major claim

Biles is already considered a gymnastics legend. Considering her capacity to stay at the top for a long number of years, it won’t be a stretch to claim that she is the “GOAT”. However, her mental health break in 2021 had the fans in denial. Termed ‘twisties’, this is a mental block that many gymnasts suffer from while performing. 

Sadly for Biles, she had to encounter it right before the 2020 Olympics. After a long gap of two years, the 26-year-old finally announced her return by qualifying for the US Gymnastics Championships. Though she was away from the game for a long time, it seems like nothing has changed.

Picking up right from where she left off, Biles stunned the internet with a win on her return. One among them was Johnson, who had high praise for her. The 5x NBA champion shared, “A big welcome back to the GOAT of gymnastics, @Simone_Biles! We all missed you!”

Johnson has a profound love for sports, especially when it involves his nation. Time and again, the NBA legend has shared heavy praise for sports stars and Biles is one of them now.

“It just makes my heart warm because it’s nice to come out here and have all that support, especially in a time like this where I was really nervous to compete again…I think I’m in better shape than I was in 2021 ,” said Biles.
