The 26-year-old’s name has become synonymous with gymnastics, given her unfathomable dominance in the field. Fans of the sport were looking forward to seeing Biles in action after two years out. Turns out that the 4x Olympic gold medalist didn’t disappoint the crowd and her fans as she created history. NBA icon Magic Johnson made sure to shower her with praise following her achievement.

The 59th edition of the National Gymnastics Championships went down in California recently, also known as the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. Biles’ most recent achievement has put the Texas native in the spotlight again.

Lakers great Magic Johnson hails Simone Biles

After taking a long break due to mental stress, Biles took part in the recently concluded Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. She showed everyone why she’s the greatest living gymnast on the planet. Biles had an impressive score of 118.450 in Women’s all-around. She clinched an all-time record eight All-Around title at the event.

Magic Johnson, who knows a thing or two about sporting greatness, lauded her on his social media handle. Magic wrote, In her return, the GOAT Simone Biles, becomes the first gymnast in history – man or woman – to win 8 U.S. all-around titles!“?

Magic made it clear that Simone might have been spending some time away from the sport but she reminded everyone why she’s hailed as the greatest gymnast.

The 5x NBA champion might be the biggest and the most famous name in the long list of Simone Biles’ fanbase. The 26-year-old, after winning the overall event, opened on her achievement. She revealed her game plan and her humble self couldn’t help but give credit to the people who believed in her.

Simone Biles opens on the massive feat achieved by her

Simone Biles, in an interview given after the games concluded, touched on her game plan and revealed she was still a work in progress. She said, “I?m trying to move a bit differently this year than I have in the past. So I think it?s working so far. So I?m going to keep it a little bit secretive. Everybody in here believes in me. My teammates believe in me, my coaches, my family, everyone, so I just need to start believing in myself a little bit more.”

She gave a lot of credit to her teammates and coaches, believing their strategies worked in her favor. With the Paris Olympics less than a year away, it’ll be interesting to see what happens in the future.
