Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan was one of the most prominent personalities of the 1990s. His prowess and abilities displayed on the basketball court over the course of 15 seasons helped him garner widespread attention from both fans and businesses alike.

Throughout his career, and even after retirement, Jordan has been widely associated with one company. Appearing in various commercials for the same, ‘His Airness’ was notably absent from one of them. The same advertisement recently resurfaced on the internet, which featured his popular teammate Dennis Rodman.

Nice Kicks Vault, a news website, recently took to its official Instagram handle to upload a reel. Shot in the background of a barbershop, the clip featured Dennis Rodman chatting with former Miami Heat player Tim Hardaway, ten-time All-Star?David Robinson, and Hollywood actress Elise Neal.

Whilst watching an NBA game, the players could be seen donning a pair of Nike ?Air Unlimited? sneakers. The clip was a commercial shot in the 1990s as part of Nike?s ?Barbershop? campaign featuring various athletes.

The reel uploaded by the news site caught the attention of Kevin Garnett, who shared it on his Instagram story with his 1 Million followers. The former player captioned the story as, ?Nike used to make the best commercials.. Hands down.?

Kevin Garnett sharing Rodman?s old commercial is not the first time that the player has fallen into the nostalgia pit of old Nike ads. It was only a few days ago when he shared another old Nike commercial featuring Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Michael Jordan’s relationship with Nike

While the clip did feature some of the well-established players of the 1990s, it missed out on showcasing the most prominent of them all. Someone who not only dominated most of the basketball court but also someone who had a good connection with the billion-dollar company.

Michael Jordan has had a relationship with Nike since 1984, the same year that the company launched the much-acclaimed line of sneakers: Air Jordan.

The first generation of Air Jordan helped the multinational corporation to make more than $100 million only a year after its launch. This motivated them to release over 36 more versions of the sneakers, with the latest one titled ?Air Jordan XXXVII?, which was released last year. Air Jordan has not only been the preferred brand for NBA Players but also for those associated with the NFL, NCAA college football, NASCAR, MLB, etc.

Michael Jordan has made over $1.3 billion due to his association with Nike, giving him a net worth that makes him one out of only two NBA players to reach billionaire status.

While Jordan?s absence from the decades-old commercial may raise some eyebrows, no one can deny the partnership that has mutually benefitted both entities for so many years.
