With a new addition, is Dwyane Wade setting the bar for family goals in the sports world?

After a summer filled with glamorous vacations and sun-soaked moments, the Wade family is back to reality. Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, and their daughter spent the season living it up in Paris, enjoying lavish yacht outings and family bonding. But as they wrapped up their dreamy getaway, they came together for an emotional reunion, welcoming another “future leader” into their fold. The moment was nothing short of special for the Wades, and it’s safe to say the family vibes were strong.

Dwyane Wade took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the gathering, posting a series of heartwarming photos that captured the essence of the reunion. One image, in particular, stood out—featuring Dahveon Morris, Dwyane’s nephew, who officially became part of the Wade family back in 2016 when the NBA star became his legal guardian. In the caption, Wade proudly declared, “I got to be an uncle tonite! We’re all proud of our @rockstar_boog5.”

He shared another story, posing alongside his wife Gabrielle, their son Zaire, and Dahveon, adding, “These young men are the future leaders of our families: Union-Wade Gang.” Gabrielle Union couldn’t help but join in on the celebration, re-sharing her husband’s story.

The Miami Heat legend’s connection with Dahveon runs deep as he took custody of his nephew when Dahveon was just 12 years old. Dahveon’s father is absent from his birth certificate, and while his mother, Deanna Morris—Dwyane’s sister—retains her parental rights, it’s Wade who has been the constant male presence, shaping his nephew’s journey.

Interestingly, both Dahveon and Zaire share more than just a family bond—they’re also hoop stars on the rise. The cousins played together at Mount Carmel High School in Chicago and graduated in 2020. While Zaire last played basketball in Africa, Dahveon’s path forward remains uncertain. But who are these future leaders Wade mentioned?

First up, there’s Zaire (22) and Zaya (16), the eldest of Dwyane Wade’s children with his high school sweetheart, Siohvaughn Funches. Zaire is following in his dad’s footsteps, making moves on the basketball court. He played for the Cape Town Tigers of the BAL last year and has signed a deal with the Macau Black Bears of the ASEAN Basketball League.

Meanwhile, Zaya has been turning heads with her inspiring journey as a model, becoming a beacon of confidence and self-love. Wade has been her loudest cheerleader, using his platform to champion inclusivity and acceptance.

Then, there’s Xavier (10), who was born to Wade and Aja Metoyer in 2013. Known for his playful spirit, Xavier keeps the family on their toes with his vibrant personality. And rounding out the crew is Kaavia James (5), Dwyane and Gabrielle Union’s daughter, born via surrogate in 2018. Kaavia, affectionately known as “Shady Baby,” brings the kind of sass and joy that lights up every room she’s in, adding a sprinkle of sunshine to the Wade household.
