The celebrations don’t cease as the Miami Heat raise the No.40 to the rafters. Udonis Haslem was honored in a gathering of franchise legends and his loved ones with a sprinkling of Hollywood and sports celebrities. As a prelude to the spectacular event, the Haslems hosted their guests in a series of celebrations in Abiaka within the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. This is The Captain. So the festivities had to be just as stylish. That’s where the billion-dollar worth Don Julio Tequila comes into the picture.

UD’s night with Dwyane Wade, Erik Spoelstra, Bam Adebayo, and many more kicked off with a happy hour filled with caviar and Don Julio 1942 tequila. Haslem got to flaunt the special nod the tequila brand gave to him on his Instagram Stories. Each bottle was imprinted with an image of the no.40 jersey and the words, “1.19.24… OG To the rafters.” He also included a disclaimer about drinking responsibly in this ad. Faith Haslem, UD’s OG ride-or-die, unveiled the specially designed bottles that each guest received as a keepsake.

Besides Heat stars including Alonzo Mourning, Goran Dragić, Chris Quinn, Haywood Highsmith, and Duncan Robinson, their families were present too. Members of the Arison family were present with Pat Riley. Gabrielle Union accompanied D-Wade who spent the dinner roasting UD along with others.

The celebration moved to Hard Rock’s exclusive Boras Section. The famous resort gifted $25,000 to the Udonis Haslem Foundation, founded by his late stepmother, Barbara Wooten. There was even an epic three-tier cake where the top-most tier was shaped in the likeness of Haslem’s jersey. Hard Rock even lit up the Guitar Hotel with the number 40, which was visible from miles away. Flo Rida also led the entertainment. Following this, it was time for D-Day.

Speeches weren’t enough to illustrate how instilled The Captain is in Heat Culture. With his wife and their kids, Kedonis, Elijah, and Josiah in the house, Miami Heat gifted $50,000 to his eponymous foundation. They also presented him with a painting by Disem who created the UD mural in Wynwood.

But nothing could top the inclusion of Haslem’s parents. Heat played archived videos of Haslem’s parents before presenting the very same arena seats Josh Haslem, Debra Haslem, and Barbara Wooten sat on for every one of UD’s games, with their names etched in gold. The original seats were replaced with dedications to each of them.

Haslem admitted the nod to his parents made him forget his prepared speech too. He still powered through it and was grateful for every single gesture on this night.
