Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen’s two-decade-long relationship ended in a bitter divorce that was finalized in 2021. According to reports, Larsa was entitled to receive half of their marital assets, although the details of the divorce settlement were not disclosed. Now she gave a candid take on “crazy” marital measures on her podcast, Separation Anxiety with beau Marcus Jordan. The 32-year-old also witnessed his parent’s bitter divorce and the hefty settlement Michael Jordan paid Juanita Vanoy.

On the latest episode of Separation Anxiety, Larsa and Marcus addressed a listener’s query on prenuptial agreements. Pippen was firm that prenups are a necessary measure as it starts a marriage on “common ground.” Marcus also agreed with her. However, he mentioned, “Prenups can get crazy, though.”

Jordan asked her if a prenup can ruin a relationship and Pippen said it can. “If I marry you and you have like a billion dollars, and you say, ‘By the way, I’m only going to give you $100,000 after 20 years,’ you’re like, ‘Wait What?’ It has to be fair, everything in life has to be fair.”

Many fans believe The Real Housewives of Miami star is referring to her divorce from Scottie Pippen. The former couple finalized their divorce in December 2021. The details are a secret but it’s reported that Larsa got a huge chunk of the NBA legend’s fortune during their marriage from 1997 to 2016, when they officially filed for separation.

She was reportedly entitled to half of Pippen’s NBA earnings and the retirement fund from the Chicago Bulls. According to California court laws, this is a common way to split marital assets in the absence of a prenup. But reports claim that Larsa and Scottie did have a prenup. Larsa was, however, signed as an alternate payee on Scottie’s 401k plan with the Bulls which made her entitled to the fund.

In the bitter court battle, Scottie had appealed to have the prenup amended to be relieved of alimony duties. Larsa put up a fight to make sure he couldn’t amend the prenup. So it’s not without reason that Larsa is a supporter of prenuptial agreements. But what does her current boyfriend who is 16 years her junior think?

Marcus Jordan supports prenups too

Marcus Jordan has never been divorced but he saw his parents’ bitter split. His dad, Michael Jordan paid a whopping $168 million to Juanita Vanoy in the divorce.

He agreed with Larsa that prenups are important even if they are “crazy.” He spoke of a wild prenup story that had a weight clause. Larsa asked if he’d do that to her and Marcus replied, “I don’t rule anything out of a prenup.” Marcus’s policy on prenups is also clear. Once you sign on the dotted line, everything is “fair game.”
