Loud. Flamboyant. Brash. Brilliant.” These were the words that the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame chose to describe Dennis Rodman. No other words could describe ‘The Worm’ better than the ones mentioned above. 5x champion Rodman was often bashed for his antics and susceptible nature. Known as the trouble child, Dennis didn’t have the easiest path to the league. While his eccentric lifestyle complemented his then persona, Rodman once admitted to his biggest regret, which was recently revived by his estranged wife.

Having never played basketball until high school, a growth spurt led Rodman to basketball. Now a Hall of Famer, the defensive juggernaut has lived quite the life.

During a time where tattoos and colored hair were seen as taboo, not many tried understanding the man Dennis Rodman really was. Leading a troubled life since his childhood, the glamour of the NBA was too much for the kid from New Jersey. Rodman was always marginalized, as society then was not ready for a personality like him. One individual that did give it a try was Michelle Moyer, his ex-wife. Marrying in 2003, the couple lasted for 9 years before they divorced.

Rodman knew his marriage was unsuccessful and admitted to it all during his emotional speech at the Hall of Fame induction in 2011. It was here that he admitted to his biggest regret and thanked his ex-wife for being a “Father and a mother” to their kids.

Overwhelmed by emotions, Rodman directed his speech at his wife and kids. Managing to keep his composure, the 5-time NBA champion revealed his biggest regret. “(If) Anyone say you have any regrets in your career of being a basketball player. I say I have one regret. I wish I was a better father.

A clip of the 2011 HOF speech was shared by his ex-wife Michelle on Instagram as she revived his biggest regret. Reposting the clip of Rodman’s speech where he speaks about his children, the 55-year-old captioned the post “and so proud of all of them.

Having two kids with Michelle, both of them have gone on to become exceptional athletes. His eldest Dennis Jr. currently plays collegiate basketball while his daughter Trinity is one of the brightest soccer talents in the country.
