The 2011 NBA champion Tyson Chandler sat with the Showtime Basketball hosts for a fascinating insight into his celebrated career. As both the hosts and fans wished to know about 

Kevin Garnett’s role in the player’s life, he detailed the most important thing about their relationship, which is respect. He said, “I just respected the way he approached the game, the intensity. I loved the way he played the game…. When I got to the league, he still didn’t disappoint like he brought every single night…that’s what I have always respected about to this day.”

As a high schooler, Tyson looked up to the Celtics legend. This is not the first time, he praised the Celtics legend. In many interviews, he revealed how, as a high school student and athlete, he idolized and admired Garnett. When Chandler was drafted into the league in 2001, his inspiration turned into something that helped him thrive. That’s when he witnessed Garnett’s trash-talking and mind game for the time.

Unfortunately, Garnett’s biggest fan witnessed his trash-talking during his first encounter. During a pregame between the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota, both athletes were on the same court. While he was excited to play against the Celtics star, Garnett had something more to say than just playing the game. During an episode of ‘Knuckleheads,’ he shared how he was surprised to hear the legend trash-talk to him and his fellow mate. In spite of that, he always praised the legend.
