Shaquille O’Neal has managed to rope in some of the most iconic stars for his show The Big Podcast. After basketball, the Los Angeles Lakers legend has stepped foot into various streams like business, music, etc. and the latest one was starting his podcast. He has used The Big Podcast to his advantage on a lot of occasions and this time, Shaq hinted at a $20 million contract that he might land with a widely-known rapper in America.
Da Baby, an American rap icon, joined Shaq for an interesting episode where the latter threw out a deal. The 4x champion and Da Baby have one thing in common and it’s their love for music. Shaq asked Da Baby all of a sudden, “If Shaq Records offers you 20 million each…”. Before the 7ft giant finished, the 32-year-old rapper interrupted, “Oh we doing it. I had done it today. I do it right, you got a mic, play the beat. I’ll make it right now. You have to come from a real place and I am about that bag.“
While this sounded like a casual conversation between the two, anything can turn into reality with Shaq in it. Also, Da Baby and Shaq have known each other for quite a long time. Especially when cancel culture affected the young rapper, Shaq was the first one to reach out to him, which he also shared in the podcast. Shaq said, “I’m a fan of his music and where comes from and all that. When cancel culture attacked him, I was the first to reach out. I told him this too shall pass.“

Keeping in mind that Da Baby was affected by cancel culture, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Shaq and him got into a deal with each other.
How did cancel culture affect Da Baby?
In July 2021, Da Baby made some controversial remarks on the sets of Rolling Loud Miami. He was forced to apologize, and he shared a video on Instagram which added up to the controversy, thus making it even worse for him. He shared, “What I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody. So my apologies.” Da Baby apologized but 2021 turned out into a disaster for him.
Lollapalooza, Azura Amphitheater, Day N Vegas, Music Midtown, iHeart Radio Music Festival, and many more canceled their shows with the American rapper in 2021. The controversial remarks affected his career, and it has been almost three years since this incident. So considering the situation that Da Baby is in right now, Shaq’s deal may come in handy for the 32-year-old.
