Michael Jordan‘s love for golf is well known. The Chicago Bulls legend has been involved with the sport from the time he was still playing in the NBA. Over the years, several other athletes have taken an interest in the sport as well, reaching new heights in golf. Jordan describes the experience of playing golf as “it’s like playing in a mirror.”

Jordan has built an empire for himself over several decades. While his legacy with the Bulls is something that dreams are made of, the most amount of money he has made comes from his Nike collaboration. Their working together dates back to Jordan’s rookie time in the league when he was approached by a rather unknown brand at the time. Since then, Nike and Jordan have gone on to scale new heights of success and have benefitted tremendously. The Air Jordan range is a part of that same collaborative work and the particular pair that Korda was rocking is a special one.
Korda is currently participating in the Grant Thornton Invitational and she was seen wearing a metallic silver low-top shoe, a Jordan classic. What’s impressive about the shoes is that it’s basically a mirror, especially due to a glossy finish. Nike Senior Design Color Manager David Gamboa said that it took them over two years to conceptualize the shoes. Gamboa said, “It was a pretty straightforward inspiration from [Jordan’s] quote to find a material that you could literally see yourself in as if your shoes were the mirror. … We immediately knew this was the foundation for our story.”

NBA athletes’ love for golf
The NBA athletes and their involvement in golf has grown over the years. This can be equated with their competitive nature because, in this sport, you achieve what you work for, unlike a team sport. Jordan thinks that this sport is tougher to play because you don’t have four other teammates to help you on a bad day.
