Michael Jordan’s friendship with Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen ?took the rocky road much before the Netflix documentary fallout, it seems. Pippen openly criticized the producers for granting a chunk of editorial rights to MJ. The former Bulls’ star believed that MJ tried to portray himself as the greater man. He went as far as calling Jordan a “horrible player” few months ago.
Pippen always shared his thoughts on the GOAT debate and has even gone on to share his negative experiences with Michael Jordan.

Hearing this, the producer from off-screen told him that it was a nice gesture from Michael Jordan to do for a young player. To this, Pippen laughingly replied, “He was trying to lure me in so he could take all my money”. They didn’t reveal during The Last Dance if Pippen played golf with Michael Jordan or if he lost money to Jordan.
But Pippen later mentioned in other interviews that he didn’t fully appreciate Jordan’s gift because the rookie was facing back issues at the time. Pippen’s doctor told him “Don?t play golf if you want to have a basketball career“. Later in an interview with golf.com, Pippen confirmed that he had never played golf with Michael Jordan. He then said if his back had been good in his rookie season, he would have played and definitely beaten Jordan at golf.
