Team USA’s disappointing exit from the FIBA World Cup has the whole world talking. People have started bringing up various reasons for the team going out without any medals. A certain 3x All-Star is not happy to see these reports from the media and coaches. He absolutely disagrees with the narrative being put out and is backing up his claims with examples of why people are wrong.

He recently went after Dennis Schröder for his comments after winning against the USA, but now this Washington Wizards legend is after anyone who says Team USA is not entirely at fault.

Gilbert Arenas recently shared his displeasure with the narrative coming out after Team USA’s failure in the FIBA World Cup. Arenas posted this on Twitter with the caption, Stop this narrative that the world is catching up in basketball. They ain’t”. He calls it a ‘dumb’ narrative and says that people should stop saying it. He said, “This isn’t 92 anymore“.

Arenas went on to say that the USA put out the most dominant team in 1992, the ‘Dream Team’ to show the world how dominant they are. He continued by saying that nine of their 12 players were on the all-NBA first and second teams. The 41-year-old further added that the only difference between the current team and the 1992 team is intelligence.

Arenas then says only minor changes were needed in the 92 team to make them their absolute best. But he leaves people with a question: How many do you think need to be changed in the current USA team? He goes on to say that politics has changed, and that’s the reason for the failure.

His response was to “Get the f*** out of here” after hearing this. He said Dennis Schröder was delusional for saying this. He also said that he always knew something was wrong with Schröder after he turned down the $84 million offer he received from the Los Angeles Lakers. Arenas also pointed out that Schröder had played with the Lakers coming off a championship in the NBA, so how could he call this team the best ever?
